Hi to all T-BHPians from Dubai

I am Giridhar as signed in (no nick names or proxies), not too young in age as many in this forum, but quite young at heart.

From Chennai, but living and working in Dubai for more than a decade. Own a Jeep Grand Cherokee (4.0 liter petrol) and a Merc C200 (my wife's). Will soon dispose my old Jeep; aspiring to buy a Toyota Landcruiser, the ultimate 4x4, in my opinion - Am I ruffling some feathers here

Have driven around, both on and off road, in the UAE. Long drives to Muscat, Musundam, etc. in neighboring Oman.

Driven good distances in the US such as LA to Vegas; Vegas to San Francisco; New Orleans to Chicago; Chicago to Wisconsin, etc. Loved to drive in US.

Driving in India is limited to within Chennai city and to neighboring Tirupati / Tirumala in M800 & Omni - with International Driving License -- I still do not have an Indian driving license

. The RTO does not want to give me a license without the minimum 30-days LLR process...and I never could stay more than 25 days in India.

Welcome to TBHP-we do have a bunch of very quiet members in Dxb. I'm the only one around thats more than a bit vocal on the threads.

Will be good to catch up sometime - perhaps we can help you really "break-in" that Landcruiser that you're considering.

Keep in touch here on the forum and perhaps one of these days we'll get together for a drink at Trader Vic's or the Long Bar.
