Hello BHPians : from another enthusiast.

I am very happy to be a part of this esteemed platform and feel privileged to be a second generation bhpian as well.

A little about myself, I'm a 19 year old student based out of Kolkata. I grew up seeing my father (also a bhpian : aviator1101) take great interest and care of his cars and bikes, and that brewed my interest in automobiles. Though I was not a member till now, I used to follow TeamBhp and keep myself updated with the latest happenings in the automobile industry, my primary interest being the news and discussions that revolve around new launches, both cars and bikes.

I love to travel and accompany my father on motorcycle trips. In September 2023, we went on our first long motorcycle trip to Ladakh on a Himalayan 411(with me as pillion) after having been on numerous short trips and rides with him in and around North East India. (It is a beautiful place, must visit if you have not been there as yet)

I am very excited now to be able to write my own travelogues in the near future and share my experiences and memories with other enthusiasts on this platform.

Happy Miles.

You are one of the few special pairs on the forum; Congratulations on carrying forward your father's legacy.

Would love to read more about your Ladakh trip. A jugalbandi of writeups from both - detailing your individual perceptions - would be the icing on the cake. Traveling as a pillion isn't for everyone, more so for a young man itching to get hold of the throttle.

Have you watched the series featuring Kalki Koechlin and her father riding together for 4,000km? Kind of inspires everyone to egg their parents on for an adventure :).

Wishing you lots of fun filled years on the forum.

Edit: I could have changed the above lines after realising who you actually are! But they must remain there as a penance for my prejudice.

Lovely to have you on the forum; and apologies for my faux pas.

@aviator1101, I can visualize the smile of pride on your face. Congratulations to you too!

Welcome to the forum backpacker_2912, great to find you here as well now. Having known both you and your big man, I am sure this forum will get enriched more by your presence here. Waiting to get to know your travel experiences and other interests in life. See you around.

Also, you two are now the second father-daughter duo of members that I know off- both online as well as offline. Last week I had the good opportunity to spend time with another duo namely hothatchway and joyee during our annual picnic.

Looking forward to your posts going forward,

Regards.

Welcome to the forum backpacker_2912 and like Abhi mentioned, its great to have youngsters like you being a part of this forum. Its no less a feat to have toured Ladakh as your father's pillion, as that is a tough place to be where one is sitting for hours and no matter which motorcycle it is, it is as much a test of endurance for the pillion as it is for the rider. The memories of such father daughter trips are to be cherished forever!

Hope to see you around in the pages of TBHP, and perhaps in one of the meets too.

Take care and god bless.

Hello girlie, so good to have you here. We met in person and now we meet here - prouder than ever to see you here. Have read and heard so much from your dad about your rides. I am so looking forward to your travelogues.

Hoping to also meeting with you soon in Kolkata during our women driver/rider meetups.

You have not met my other half of my alias name - the Dog of DogNDamsel12 - Nemo. Hopefully soon. Here's his introduction thread.

Now he just sleeps on the backseat during city drives.
