I've been in Wynad several times; before the current "resort boom". Once I stayed in the Kalpetta guest house for 2 weeks for a project that was related to the Ambalavayal museum, years ago.

What a great place Wynad is...! No other district in Kerala can boast that much of diversity:
- history that dates back to 2000-2500 years.
- rich flora n fauna
- terrific scenery and natural spots
- cool fresh "atmosphere" (words cannot express the quality of air that we breath in Ambalavayal and Edakkal)
- least crowded
- presence of the Jain community
Writer MT was doing some (informal but serious) research on Pazhassi Raja at that time, we were told that he was going to write a novel on Pazhassi; O K Johnny was seen assisting him...now after all these years it is coming out as the movie.
