hiyall young'uns - 1 damn long intro

good day,

after seeing the age of most of the bhpians - i realise that i am almost a decade of decadence older than most of you guys out here...anyways, i am sure that there is company to be found in these pages - whether from the young - or the not so young (ahem)

i drive a esteem for about 50kms daily on the mean streets of mumbai - stay in kandivali (e) - 13140 moons old and counting.

i stumbled on your website when i was researching the palio d for my purchase - and was intrigued enough to become a member - have already booked the palio d, fiat's (at present) nonexistant website notwithstanding - will keep you posted on the status.

i lament the state of the drive that i have to go through daily - the mess that mumbai is becoming, esp the drivers - too many horns too blow, no stopping at red lights, no civic sense or concern for others and no lane discipline! i hope that thru these pages, we might change some of that...

i am not really a speed freak (petrolhead?) but i love driving / crusing down the beautiful countrysides and experiencing the wonders of india's beauty - the best way i know - driving my own car, with my wife for company and a 60's-70's retro cd in my player.

they say a great car is all about enjoying the beauty of the world's best roads and cherishing the wonderful memories that those moments bring...i agree.

will post more later - esp some photos of me in the cockpit of a ferrari 550 maranello!

Yeah the road discipline is bad...but we still are better off than places such as delhi.

Fantastic intro cream, and its great to have you with us. Yes the traffic flow in Bombay can get on anyones nerves but I think that the organisation in South Bombay is far better than in the suburbs (No rickshaws and wider roads?)

We eagerly await the Ferrari pictures. Did you drive it too?

Welcome, I too joined this forum few days back. BTW, we are almost same age. While the average crowd here is a decade younger than us, automotive knowledge wise they are decades ahead of us. Therefore it evens out.
