Hello!

HI there, AutomaticChoice from Trivandrum. The name says it all. Firmly believe automatics are the way to go in our crazy roads. As far as vehicles go, I believe cars are to go from point A -> B and bikes are for pleasure - India.

auto - on a bike!?

While most enthusiasts prefer using all 4 limbs to drive a car, one has to agree that the newer generation of automatic transmissions has improved tremendously.

What with all the funky double-clutches, paddles-shifters, etc., a car equipped with a good autobox isn't much off in driving pleasure than it's manual counterpart.

But manuals do become a pain to drive in heavy traffic. Automatics help you relax a bit.

Welcome to Team-BHP! Take some time to familiarise yourself with the forum's posting rules!

Enjoy!

ps. This forum is full of car (and bike, ofcourse) enthusiasts - so don't say a car's just for going from point A to B, because it just isn't!

Welcome to Team BHP. Automatics are convenient for city driving. However, for hill driving they are a pain. Most automatics now a days come with extra gears for hill driving. I never found that convenient in my Corolla though.

Guys... thanks for the welcome. My comment about manual/cars is tongue-in-cheek, not intended to belittle the scores of car-lovers here. I just have more fun on a bike than in a car...

Anyway, just bought a 2005 Lancer Invex Tiptronic (thanks to Team-Bhp classifieds), so there ends my quest for an automatic point A->B transporter
