i've infact been thinking about vaccum brakes(definitely not gonna advertise that on my car) ......do you have any detail on what it will involve regarding costs, mods etc...my reasoning is that since the 5 Speed M800 and the Alto share the same engine the work should be minimal and the vaccum booster used in the Alto should work......whatz your take on this fellow bhpians....

Drive fast but safe...

Hi shibu, welcome to the team. The 5 speed model of 800 was phased out because it had the same engine as Alto and being lighter gave more average and was more peppier. Since Maruti was focussed in Alto inherting the 800 buyers, they had to discontinue the model.
Maruti cars generally dont have good breaks. I have an Esteem and a Swift and the Esteems brakes give me a heart attack too.
Welcome to the team.... was just in Kerela (Munnar) last week, beautiful place.
