Introducing myself :)

Hi tbhpians,

It's been quiet sometime since I was contemplating on joining tbhp. Although I was a regular to this haven for motorheads, somehow, never managed to register. Today, the stars changed positions and here I am typing my first post!

To start off, I am Anish. Work as an Instructional Designer for a MNC in Mumbai. Hobbies include writing, blogging, listening to music and less I forget, motoring Have been passionate about engines, bikes, motoring and cars ever since I gained my senses.

My motoring frenzy started in the year 2000 when I got my first bike. It was a choice made 'against all odds', when I chose the classic Fiero over a CBZ and YBX. To this day, getting upon the saddle excites me, like it did on day one.

My next set of wheels were a '98 Zen, which I picked up second-hand. The car had its share of getting ripped in my hands and doing Pune to Mumbai in a time-shrinking 1 hour and 15 minutes. Blew a spark plug on the expressway and drove to Mumbai on 3 cylinders

Last November, got my next set of wheels, another Zen. But this time, it was a brand new Silky Silver MPFI Zen VXi. It has been a faithful horse in all my runs to Pune and it is aptly called the "Silver Stallion." Love listening to music and driving it around town.

So this is me, calling out to all tbhp members, old and new. Hello people

Hey Dude

Better late than never - welcome to TBHP.

Listening to music while driving is an addition that I share too. My car stereo sees more use than the one at home...

Thanks, SMG.

My music intrests are very assorted. I like listening to the new generation punjabi hip-hop fusion music in my car. At work, I listen to the 80s and alternative music. At home, it is classic rock and heavy metal. How about you?

I love Indian Classical Music ( Pt Jasraj, Pt Bhimsen Joshi, Hariprasad, Amjad Ali , Shivkumar Sharma, Pt Kishori Amonkar, Dagar Brothers, Ravishankar, Pt Vishwamohan Bhat...) and Western Classical Music ( Mozart, Beethoven, Choplin, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi ).

While driving I prefer light music, mostly folk ,some 1950’s and 1960’s Hindi Film music and yes K L Saigal.

I have an excellent setup for Music restoration (converting LP/Cassette to MP3) work, an iPod and Belkin FM transmitter.

Keep in touch.

So much in common with me. BTW, I lived for some time at San Diego too.

SMG, looks like you have the audiophila musica virus in your bloodstream, just like me! I am a audio gadget freak too. I have a iRiver portable music player, the Nokia 6230, and a nice music system in my car. I have been looking for the Belkin FM Transmitter too. Where did you but it?

Sometime back, I had written about my musical journey on my blog. I'd love if you can read it and give me your feedback.

Cheers!
