Closet driving enthusiast from Pune.

Hello,

Been browsing the forums as a guest for quite a while for the interesting topics. Just signed up and might just continue to lurk. Am planning to shortly buy a (most likely) used Honda Civic due to budget constraints. Back in 2000-2002 in California I owned a used Ford Thunderbird LX 1995 model and then a 2002 model Pontiac Firebird/TransAm muscle car! Those were the days. Trying to get a little pep back in my daily commute by buying a 1800cc+ engine car like the Civic since I'm bored driving my weak 6+ year old 1.2 litre Palio

Regards,
Vishal

Welcome here.

May we suggest something more thrilling than a Civic?

PS: How was the experience with the muscle car?

@ vishalrao: Welcome aboard. Are you also part of PLUG? And what does 'Closet driving enthusiast' mean?

@ alpha1: One can edit own post within 15-20 minutes, no need for a double post.

Sure, maybe I'll post a thread for suggestions but for budget contstraints and also got to keep mom n dad happy :-)

The firebird muscle car was awesome, even though people usually say US cars are nothing in terms of handling compared to what europeans produce, the long drives along california highways were sweet indeed!

If you mean Pune Linux User Group, yes I'm on that mailing list too

"Closet" driving enthusiast means I really love to drive but hardly do it much these days mostly due to lack of time and a sad car (palio) haha.

Vishal Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your stay.

PS: people around here are big fans/sentimental about Palios, so be careful with the words to choose for the car

Where in Pune do you reside ?

Nice to see old-timers from Pune around

Welcome Vishal to this great forum here. Civic certainly is a good choice although there are some other cars that might suit you too. (Octavia vRS?).

balenopower: your location is a tad confusing..are you originally from Mumbai and living in Pune at the moment?

sukiwa: seems like you stay very close to my place!

Maybe its time to have a Pune meet :-)
