hello

Hi guys,

Have been a silent spectator of this forum for abt a week or so. I guess its about time i introduced myself. I work in Bangalore in an IT organization ... born/brought up in Hyd, graduated from IIT D.

Have been driving an old maruti 800 so far. Will be getting a baleno vxi soon. Haven't been much of a long distance driver ... longest at one stretch has been Blr-Hyd (around 500 odd km I guess) ... guess with the bigger car, I can do more abt it.

Cheers!

Welcome aboard. Two of my favourite cities!

BLR-HYD is over 560 km. Should be a helluva lot of fun in a Baleno!

Thanx guys! Difficult not to buy that car at the price it was being offered at.

Not sure if this is the right place to post the following; if not, mods please correct me:

This was the deal I got:
53k cash discount (includes 10k corporate discount), or
Free insurance + 28k MGA + 10k corporate discount (works out to roughly 62k)
The insurance these guys have is fairly neat. They claim cashless transactions for everything.
The dealer threw in some rubber boot mats for free.

Put some numbers in place using the trusty old excel and then it figured that even if i buy stuff from JC road, the total effective amount that is left after all the expenses is nearly the same. So, decided to take 28k worth MGAs from the dealer.

These are the extra things i purchased:
1. 2 rear speakers (6" x 9") - soundstream - 6k inr
2. 2 front speakers (5.25") - soundstream - 3k inr
3. dolphin art leather seats - 4k inr
4. 185/70/r13 bridgestone
5. Llumar -platinum steel 35
6. Pioneer Head Unit - P6750
7. Teflon coating

1, 2 and 3: got it from JC road. The rest, I adjusted frm the free MGAs they were giving.

Do you guys think if it is worth taking the 4th year warranty?

You're talking about extended warrenty. Honestly, it depends greatly on your requirment of supports. Most of the members here like to go in for some sort of modification as soon as possible.

turbo_lover, not into heavy metal ... but soft rock and r&b
revvhead, pearl silver for me ... folks at home gave me that philosophical bull**** about black being inauspiscious, but, if it were upto me, i would've gone for black ... black baleno just looks awesome!

Blue Baleno, man! How come no one else has one?!

Good actually, preserves exclusivity

Now we REALLY need to have a Bangalore Baleno meet...

Dude, still no pictures man! Sorry about that. But I'll bring it along to the next meet. It's the same colour as the Swift in blue, and (I like to think) the Dodge Viper, and the new Audi RS4!!!

I have seen black Balenos, they look good. But isn't black color difficult to maintain? Won't the scratches be easily visible?
