I have been passing through for years but for some reason joined only recently. Thank you and I am very proud. I hope to participate frequently. I must add that this is truly a gentlemens forum. Polite and nice.
I am an importer for the aerospace industry in India. I certify and import certain special alloys which go into manufacture of India's space launch vehicles and certain other things that go voom and sometimes bang, if you get my drift.
I own a Honda Civic AT and an Ikon 1.3. Somehow I like the Ikon more!!
Plan for 2010 is an SUV, not strictly but a vehicle that can go off-road. There are place 200kms radius of Bangalore which really cannot be explored with the cars I currently own. Dream is a Land Rover Defender. We all know how tough its to import, but I plan to do it sooner of later. LD India does not seem to want to sell those here. One can get a nice used one from UK for GBP 10K. I am really not sure how much the duty will work out as they use some kind of formula to arrive at the duty, not necessarily from the import invoice. I will have to get a customs person to help me on that. If someone here can tell, that would be great.
