hello from Philipkuttys Kerala

Hi Everybody,

I joined team-bhp after I met steriod at the safari dicor launch at Kochin and have no regrets. Its a great forum and my only regret is that I do not have enough time to dedicate! Under steriod's leadership we had a small get together of fellow team-bhpians at Kochin on Sunday evening at the Metropolitian and had six of us participating. Great for a begining I suppose . For once I could talk to people who really enjoyed cars and understood what was talked about .We hope to take it to greater heights from there and have more join in.

I am from Kerala and live about an hour from Kochin and anything on four or more wheels really excites me .I had previously owned an ambassaddor in the eighties, with the famous ' matador' diesel engine. It was a real work horse . After the amby we had a Tata Estate [1993] which we kept till 1998. It clocked 270,000 kms and had one engine overhaul . Great concept with the worst execution!Sold it before the second overhaul for what I could get and then bought an Indica in 2000. The Indica is doing fine and has 240,000 on the clock after the first engine overhaul at 180,000 kms. She is going strong with a little rattle here and there . We have picked up an Innova in July this year . After the Tata products its totally another experience. We have clocked 6000 kms so far and It is perfect , returns between 12 to 13 kms to a litre and is a perfect marriage of all that we wanted in a car with all that a Utility vechicle haS to offer.

So much for now. Will be more active in the coming days.

Bye.

Philipkuttys

hi philipkuttys welcome to the forum.we all should keep in touch i feel and from the next meet onwards include a drive also.i am really looking forward to a slush drive with steeroid's safari.after that day we saw his suv at the metropolitan,i was totally in awe at that beast of a vehicle(especially as the drive back through the allepey route was pot-hole filled and i thought how good it would be in a safari!!)but it is tata's reliability problems that always make me slightly doubtful of tata vehicles.anyway will keep in touch.and i am too eager to see your resort too!!

Hey Philip,

Welcome to Team BHP, I absolutely loved the way you showed ownership on the cars you have had so far. Please do write about the Innova, its supposedly the talk amongst my friends. It would be helpful ;-)

Have fun and wear your seatbelts
