Introduction

Dear Team BHP,

It is my pleasure to introduce myself to this august forum. I am doctor from Bangalore, a Surgeon by qualification. I am the proud owner of a Ford Endaevour 3.0 L AT, diamond white in color, which I recieved yesterday. It was an exhilarating experience to get behind the wheels of this lovely vehicle. I used to own an Innova for the last 4 years and decided to take the plunge into the next segment. I did not want to buy the Fortuner for the waiting period, and also because it was literally no different from the Innova in all its interiors. Infact, in my test drives, the Fortuner looked more cramped than my Innova which was a 7-seater with captain seats for the middle row also! Also the most irritating aspect of the Fortuner was the manual 4 WD shifter....which looked a second gear lever! But the aspect that sealed the deal in Ford Endaevour's favor was the brake issue being reported on most newly sold Fortuner vehicles. But having driven my Ford yeaterday, I do not want to look back and re-examine my decision. I feel proud and confident that I went in for the Endy. I will post some pics of the vehicle soon and also give an account of my first week with this vehicle ...once I complete 1 week....

Welcome Doc! and congrats on a great choice! Endy is one hell of an SUV and I love it too! Are you a general surgeon or you specialize in some area? Good to see non technical guys in this forum!

Thanks everyone for the warmth shown. I am a general surgeon. However, for the last 6 years, my passion for technology and medical software has led me to work for Philips Healthcare, where I work as a senior clinical specialist - responsible for defining technical requirements from clinical requirements and also validation of software products on the latest CT scanners and workstations. However, I practice Surgery during the weekends together with my wife, who is also a General Surgeon.

Looking forward for a great time sharing and learning from this forum.

Doc Nice to see a profession you are shaping according to your passion!
Some time back I had the chance to listen Dr Devi Shetty and then an academic professor in a conference.

I was amazed at how, medical consultation, wireless technology, video-conferencing. cloud-based-db management and sensor networking is
shaping the next generation of health care systems.

First it seemed like I am walking out of a sci-fi movie but then a little more thought, and it seemed plausible!
