Hello to Team-BHP

Hi All,
After shying away from introducing myself (or being active in T-BHP )after being a member since Feb 2009 and spending atleast 2-3 hours reading through threads/posts (99% of the time spent on 4x4 and off-roading forum) I thought of giving it a go by introducing myself.

I am 29 years old,and living in bangalore. From child hood I was fond of the RE bullets and Jeeps (Not knowing much about the technicalities though). My first dream of owning a bullet came true during my engg days after I sold of my brand new Yamaha RX135 5-speed (courtesy - My dad (he would not buy me a bullet)) for a 1989 old RE 350 (My dad cam to know about it after 6 months only since I studied away from home )

My second dream of owning a Jeep came true after completing my studies and started working. This time I sold of my Palio (courtesy - Dad; again) for a 2000 Model Mahindra Classic (aquired 3 years back; Not in the best condition - mechanically/lookwise). I was not aware much about off-roading or 4WD (other than 2 differentials, 2 small gear levers next to the main one etc; not that I know much even now).

But being a regular reader of T-BHP 4x4 forum I think I am atleast past the kinder garten phase.

Though I sold of my bullet I have the Classic still with me (after being 2 years out of India). It lacks a 4WD and the engine is not the stock Peugeot one. Apart from the I also have a Tata Safari 2.2 (Courtesy - Myself).

Thanks for reading through . Thanks to T-BHP and the mods.
Wish you all a happy new year,

JJ

PS - I would have put in more smilies but I guess 2 is the limit and I don't want any infractions in my first post itself (Smile)

J 4 Jeep.

Welcome to this wonderful forum.

As the saying goes 'Jeeps are built, not bought'.There are many Jeep gurus on this forum who will guide you whenever you are in need.

There is a Tata Safari thread on this forum, you can start posting details.

BTW-I own a 42 GPW and a 90 Trooper.

Yes, very true. Rules are rules from day one.

Welcome to Team-BHP. We would love to hear stories about your Classic and Safari. We all come to this forum as illiterates (Not all, but most of us) and in a few months down-the-line we all start understanding and experiencing a weird language - Language of the Machines.

All the best.
