My two chariots together at GIP, Noida today. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

Best of both world's I would say and most practical vehicles in their respective categories.

Re: The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last

Took out the other Toyota from the cold storage. In my Dad's memory, our Toyota Qualis 2001, which I won't sell, crossed 1,26,000 kms. Still going strong on nick knack duty 13 years down the line. Here are a few photos -

The Engine

Except the steering wheel, ages quite well

The interiors still look fresh

These photos are testimony to why Toyota is such a respected brand all over the world. It has RELIABILITY written all over...

Time for 25000 kms Service

The Falcon was at 24531 kms on the odo and 25k service was undertaken today

The usual under belly wash

There was some white exterior paint which had got stuck on two of the wheels and was removed after persistent pressure wash

30,000 km Service 09-07-2015

The Falcon was at 29,350 kms and it was time for the 30k Service. This is a MAJOR service, I had booked a EXPRESS Maintenance Service a day earlier and they were waiting for me

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-4th-30k-service-29353kms-09072015_1.jpg

The regular wash cycle

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-4th-30k-service-29353kms-09072015_3.jpg

As 4 years had nearly passed, I asked for a Battery Test. The result was positive and the battery was still going strong.
The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-4th-30k-service-29353kms-09072015_4.jpg

The major items changed were the engine oil, oil filter, air filter & the A/C filter. The Total cost was 8378/-. Some Diamond Brite Spray care of various hinges and electrical terminals was done free of cost by some Made in UK products. One Driver side wiper was changed a few days back at a cost of approx. 1600/-.

The Toyota is still going bullet proof and strong as ever, living up to its reputation.

Cheers...

31000 kms and going strong. No major issues to report except I hear some squeaks from the driver side door beading. Maybe some WD40 should solve the issue.

Re: The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last

^^^

Please use Vinyl and Leather polish on the rubber beading ; no WD40.

Better still please get the driver door adjusted . It looks like the door is a tad loose.

Re: The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last

Hi,

My Fortuner is due for service this month. (25K service)
Request you to answer following queries to help me better with my complaints to service advisor.
1. Is there a door switch in Engine bay to sound alarm when engine bay is opened in "LOCK" condition. I could not locate one, neither there was a sound, when i tried to test.

2. My Front left door alarm cum door switch is behaving strangely. It does give signal for door open in display but signal is not passed on to alarm system, which considers the door to be closed. (No alarm on opening in "LOCK" or while pressing "LOCK" with door open)

Thanks.

Re: The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last

Dkaile Sir,
Apologies for hijacking your thread. Would you or the other long term fortuner owners be able to confirm if a cross members does exist in the pre-2015 Fortuner. If indeed its been removed then its a genuine cause for concern. I'm cross-posting this photo from the Endeavor thread. Once again my apologies for taking over your thread.

Battery Change 16-06-2016

It was time for battery change of the Fortuner @34800 kms

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-fortuner-battery-replaced-16062016_1.jpg

It is an 85Ah battery and I changed it with a EXIDE MILEAGE battery. As my original Fortuner Battery was also EXIDE and lasted me full 5 years, I decided to stick to the OEM. It costed me 4500 each after giving back the old battery.

The Fortuner Battery model is FMI0-MI105D31L and MRP 6500/-

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-fortuner-battery-replaced-16062016_2.jpg

came with a 3 year warranty

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-fortuner-battery-replaced-16062016_3.jpg

Amaron were cheaper by 5-600 bucks but I decided to stick with my 'trusted' brand.

Thanks for the update, Dhiraj! I have been contemplating adding a second battery in my Fortunar since I am running a set of Auxiliary lights, winch and a heavy ICE which I can utilize the additional battery for. Given your feedback, I would also prefer Exide since my stock one is working very well so far.

Re: The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last

35,000 km, 5th PAID Service on 11-07-2015 @34971kms

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_1.jpg

The Falcon was at 34,971 kms and it was time for the 35k Service, exactly one year after the 4th Service. Yes, the 'truck' is driven quite less as with all my other four wheelers, with my primary love having shifted to two wheels...Lolz. This again is a MINOR service and as usual I had booked a EXPRESS Maintenance Service two day earlier.

First a thorough under-body wash was undertaken

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_2.jpg

Then the SUV was shifted to the service bay area

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_3.jpg

All the brakes were opened up, cleaned, adjusted for bite and checked for wear. With my driving style, here you can see that the original brake pads still have more than 50% life left in them even after 35k kms

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_4.jpg

Propeller Shaft greasing underway. Usually it needs to be undertaken every 10k kms but since they had skipped it in the previous service as they were out of grease, I got it completed, free of cost, in this one.

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_5.jpg

The Air Filter and the Cabin AC Filter were removed to be cleaned. This picture is before cleaning. Quite clean, as they had been replaced in the previous service.

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_6.jpg

Time for a thorough engine cleanup and body wash

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_7.jpg

And the engine after the 3M care

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_8.jpg

The Battery Terminals was sprayed by a special compound by Diamond Brite Spray, UK, as also done previously. They usually charge for this but mine was done FOC.

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_9.jpg

Minor touch-up was done to the small nicks and bruises it caught up this year.

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_10.jpg

All ready to leave the service area

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_11.jpg

And here it is ready for delivery

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_12.jpg

Looking as fabulous as the day I bought it

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_13.jpg

Bullet proof Toyota Quality and my TLC contributed to this...

Ready for another year

The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last-toyota-fortuner-5th-35k-service-34971kms-11072016_15.jpg

Total damages were 1347/- and that is all I invested in this BRUTE this whole year, apart from the battery that was changed.

Back Home.... and it's ready to LIVE to DRIVE. Maybe LEH next year, as this year I am planning that trip on my Himalayan.

Re: The Millennium Falcon - Toyota Fortuner - The Raptor that is built to last

Sorry for not updating this thread, but we had to sell off a perfectly working vehicle, to a buyer in Uttarakhand, where hopefully it will run like new for it's new owner, with very low mileage on 21st October 2021. Just 58k on the odo. Stupid stupid NGT rule. 10th August 2011 to 21st October 2021 - R. I. P.

Some last photos on the day of sale -
