Mileage update

Let’s see
1. The FE figures are quite accurate if not exact. Display FE was 24.6 kmpl and my calculated FE by tank to tank method was 23.9 kmpl. Its pretty close.
2. To answer the second ques i tired to check the FE during a 154 kms run from Mathura to Gurgaon with varying road and traffic conditions. I just ensured not to cross 80kmph speed limit and not to rev beyond 2000 rpm while changing gears. This FE gauge was not reset during the entire 160 kms journey. The breakup is like this
i. Mathura refinery to Palwal
Distance: 90 km
Road: NH2 , 4 lane highway
Traffic: moderate
Snailing traffic: at 3 places kosi, hodal and palwal
No of breaks/ stops 2: one at toll plaza, second one for fuel
AC: off
With FE gauze set to zero and after 5kms FE 33.5 kmpl

@ bravo82in

Those are very impressive figures for Micra Diesel. Keeping it under 80 with moderate driving style is helping a lot, but what if you do spirited driving ? i guess still it should return pretty decent figures in those circumstances also.

Nissan Should bank on FE in their advertisements

There would be many potential customers for Micra in Team-Bhp and this kind of FE will surely be icing on the cake

re: Nissan Micra Diesel. EDIT: 140,000 km / 10 years of happy ownership

To summarize:
1. The display FE is quite accurate
2. A FE of 30+ kmpl can easily be maintained on highways and 20+ in city.
3. There was nothing special with my driving style. Just didnt cross 2000 rpm mark.
Disclaimer: Life gets too boring to get those figures. Forget the FE and rev the engine u will love it more.

Even with spirited run and going upto 120kmph the FE was an impressive 24kmpl.

Some T-BHPians reported FE of 20+ with logan with which micra D shares its engine.

This is too envious bravo82in when my Beat which costs much less return a paltry 9 in the city, that too running on the precious liquid - petrol! Eagerly waiting for the Sunny diesel to get launched to see a similar FE.

Those are some remarkable figures there for the Micra D. 25+ with spirited driving and 30+ without is just awesome.

Are these the best figures for the diesel hatches around today ?

Wow those are some really great figures. But surprised that the dealership or Nissan is not yet ready to claim them.

In between, we are holding back our purchase of Micra for the moment. I want to wait till the Auto Expo to see the Pulse (Really love the sports version of it in Yellow). I hope they just don't compromise on the safety of that.

Hi bravo,
I wanted a clarification. The XV version does not come with a rear spoiler. So did you get it done extra at the dealer. If so, how much did it cost you ?

re: Nissan Micra Diesel. EDIT: 140,000 km / 10 years of happy ownership

hey guys, first of all what a fantastic buy, and a good decision. micra is all quality and best urban hatch. and the mileage figures are mind numbing! well but so is the design choice for your alloys. (a bit too funky for my taste) they look pimp but man they are really whacked out

mileage mantra: i read this somewhere,to really get superb mileage you have drive exactly at 90 km/hr and not 80 km/hr.(why i don't know) but the magic number is 90. and you must have the window glass rolled up,(it helps to achieve aerodynamics performance, less drag with smoother wind flow.(u got your mileage without AC i presume) obviously windows not rolled up. so its doesn't make sense in india because u just have to use AC with windows rolled up.it may or may not make that much of a difference.
