Amazing FE.
Thanks dear, NVH levels are well contained, but not class leading.
Nothing affects the pulling power even with 5 on board with ac.
FE is keeping me more than happy. Its a complete paisa wasul.
Stock audio quality is just ok. Good for an occasional listener. Audiophile will definitely need a system upgrade plus USB is missing from stock system.

Nice review and pics man. Top end does not offer much over base diesel. In between , I heard that they made minor changes to Micra last week. Can anyone confirm that. Read head rests have been added or something like that
Thats wonderful!!! 3 micra and all in red. Long waiting period of swift was one of the reasons i picked up Micra. U will love the peppy engine, small turn radius, light steering and FE But u will miss highways manners, better brakes, ABS, steering controls, UBS support, climate control, passenger airbags of ZDi. Its a breeze to drive it in the city. Do take a TD for highway manners b4 going for one.
Rear head rest are standard with D premium, not sure though.

re: Nissan Micra Diesel. EDIT: 140,000 km / 10 years of happy ownership

Congratulations alot bravo for buying the New Micra dCi.
Its raining Nissan Micras at ours place, thanks to the relatively cheaper Diesel fuel & huge waiting list for Swift diesel here.

I've also TD-en Micra diesel many times, but haven't liked its shockingly high engine noise, even inside the cabin while accelerating.
What's your take on this ?
Is it was exclusively on the TD car or is same across the Micra Diesel !

Yes, you're right.
Few weeks back, Nissan have upgraded Micra Diesel range with few features like;
-Better cushioning to its Rear Sear.
-Adjustable headrests on its Rear Seat.
-Slightly stiffened Rear Suspension settings.
-'Pure Drive' with variant logo on its Tailgate instead of 'dCi' badge alone.

Engine noise is 'slightly' on higher side, but nothing 'shocking' abt it. Even in the TD car, odo 30k, the engine noise was well contained. Any particular car u are comparing the NVH levels? Non of the cars in the segment provide a complete package, u need to compromise at something. Swift D i think is an overall balanced package.

Thanks for sharing the information. These upgrades contribute a lot and cost nothing.

re: Nissan Micra Diesel. EDIT: 140,000 km / 10 years of happy ownership

What are the service intervals for Micra. When my dad visited the dealer he was told that it is 10k. But I see in the first post it is mentioned as 5K. Also how do you rate the engine noise in the cabin among the cars you had a test drive.

@CRtorquefan, thanks for confirming this man.

@bravo82in, we will still hold onto the booking of the Swift. We needed 2 cars anyway. Micra mainly for city drive and for my sister.

Nissan Micra, rode this beauty all round the exotic Greek Islands of Santorini and Mykonos. Although it was petrol but had that punch and pep to climb the volanic ascends there.

Service manual says 5k for diesel and in extreme driving conditions. The service manager said at 5k kms it routine check up, cleaning and washing; consumables every 10k kms.
Since i am used to Tata cars, i find the cabin noise acceptable. One can easily make out its diesel from cabin.

Micra is prone to scratches, paint quality is not top notch. Mine already has many, thanks to my pet dogs. Do reconsider cherry red color. Sliver or white is a safer bet.

That is the third Gen Micra which reminded me a lot of beetle the first time I saw it. I like that more than the current generation

Infact I am yet to test drive the car. She has already driven it and loves the way it drives. Red is the color that everyone seems to like at home. No change in that. Infact everyone in my family loves the Retro looks. My mom and dad really liked it a lot.

By the way I just spoke with the dealer who confirmed that Pure Drive is available in both XV and XV Premium. How come your car does not have that badge. When was yours manufactured and when was the delivery. Features of the updated model
1) Included Rear Seat Head Rests
2) Included Mirror In Sun Visors
3) Increased Rear Seat Cushion
4) Re-badged DCI as XV Premium Pure Drive DCI(as attached below).
5) Rectified Suspension Noise that Prevailed Over Sharp Humps/Bumps
6) Rectified Brake Noise.
Does your have the features 1-4?
Did you get any discounts when you purchased?

Nice review there of the Micra Dci. Guess its the first on Team-bhp. You are getting excellent Fuel efficiency figures as well.
Can you compare the Clutch of Micra dci with other light clutches of petrol cares like Santro, Spark ?

re: Nissan Micra Diesel. EDIT: 140,000 km / 10 years of happy ownership

Now i cant digest my lunch after reading 33 km/ltr !!

14km/lt difference (City to Highway) !
Please cross check by tank full method .

If this figures are true ... God save other diesel hatches !

My Figo TDCi gives me 14-15 in the city and 19-20 kmpl on highways.

Someone said 19-20 kmpl in city traffic is par for most diesel hatchback ... ??

Yes. even i share the same viewpoint. Please check tank full to tank full over a period of say 100 kms min. If you are still getting 33, then it's truly truly amazing.
Even the Nano diesel will be struggling against Micra Diesel, hmmm if it comes.

Red is other wise a beautiful color. Micra looks best in bright colors. All ladies in my family voted for micras looks and all gentlemen were for polo and the dominant class won

Thanks Rahul!! This is the first micra D review here. FE of 30+ can easily be maintained on highways and 20+ in city.
Clutch is as light as sparks( 5k kms). Its much lighter than my Estilo(83 k kms) and Alto (58k kms), may be because clutch plates have worn out. Overall clutch is as good as petrol.

@karizma_devil and turbodelight.

Another micra owner here reported the display FE to be accurate. I am yet to do that, need to drive close to 900kms to cross check. I am constantly getting a mileage of 30+ on highways and 20+ in city.

The Pure Drive was launched on July 31st. May be cars manufactured from August only have this facility. I have asked the dealer to provide me the Engine and Chasis No. Two dealers in Hyderabad have confirmed that Pure Drive is available in XV.

What's the normal speeds at which you drive on highways?

Could you explain what is pure drive? If it's some technology, what's the advantage?

I try and maintain between 75 & 80 kmph and ensure not to cross 2000 rpm mark while shifting gears.

With so many fingers pointing at the FE figures I quoted I tried to re check it.
I am trying to answer 2 ques
1. Is the FE of display accurate?
2. Is the mileage I was getting sustainable over long run?
