TATA Indigo Marina 10 K

My attempt to make Marina look lil sporty perhaps more like Palio adventure that I really wanted to purchase.

Cpl of things that I managed - it has been a big mess to get any quality customization done for me atleast in hyderabad

1. Increase the GC to abt 200 mm by putting spacers

2. Bigger tubeless tyres - Potenza 195/60 and alloys

3. Side protector

4. Front crash guard ( still some work left)

And some things that are pending

1. Front fog lamps

2. Changes in front crash guard

3. Whatever changes I can manage in the interiors..to make it lil better

On my experience with Marina

- The experience with Tata motors much better and professional that I expected.

- Initially was challenged driving a diesal vehicle first time as I have always driven petrol cars

- Drive more than 9k in 5 months with two long drives - 1. Hyd-Banglore and back

2. Hyd to Goa and back. Impressed with how this car can take bad or non-existent roads. Touched 145 kmpg based on speedo not taking taking into consideration the tyre upsize error.

- Driving in neck-to neck traffic is not something I relish with this beast.

- Highway driving is a pleasure

3. High speed breaking i.e. 100+ - car swerves, but anything less than 100 is pretty confidence inspiring

I am looking for suggestions -

- what can I do to improve the interiors and wat external mods I can carry out to make it more sporty?

- And where can I take it to get those changes in Hyd or any other place nearby..even Banglore is fine :-)

4 Two free services so far 5k and 7.5 K, only charged for oil& filter change in 7.5 k service.

Overall a VFM package, only thing that TATA can change is interiors and perhaps some more power i.e. below 2k RPM. Perhaps they are already working on DICOR Marina.

Nice car vivek! And yeah... it is a cool car if you take everything into consideration. Btw you got that 7.5k free service on your Marina, is it? Hmmm... So how many free service did they offer you? Five I suppose? My Indica (must be of the same vintage as your marina) came with that 7.5k free service token but they tore and kept it back saying that "this is not offered any more". So my second service is only at 10k. And where did you pick it up from? Malik? Mine was from Autofin.

Hi,

To the best of my belief, the turbo charged engines have oil changes at 7500 km intervals whereas the non turbo models have 10000 kms oil change intervals.

Marina LS Oct 2005, 6891 kms 14.16 kpl (100% AC)

Err - lets say Tata cars are not much of an enthusiasts choice like the Palio 1.6 (except for the odd turbo) , or as controversial as the Fiat A/S/S

They are good, decent cars, with decent ownership experiences, period.

BTW - good review, and nice to see you have had a good experience with Tata's A/S/S

You have a good, reliable car which meets your requirements. While you may not get as many comments as the other brand, your car is one the best sellers in the market. The numbers speak for the car more than any number of rabid comments.

I agree with what Goldie said. Anyway, nice looking car that you have! As far as I remember, Adventure was your first choice car, but you were put off by the Fiat dealer.
