Nice funny informational videos shot in India.

Thanks a ton dkaile. Was looking for a used Superb & found both A/T & M/T, both were 2011 Models (August / October) and run very less (11000 / 8600). Even my running is very less and after reading about the horror stories of 7 Speed DSG Gear Box, thought of looking at the M/T. However after reading your posts, all doubts just vanished and picked up the car immediately. A big THANK YOU to you. Cheers

Congratulations bimal8. So which one did you pick and for how much? Do start a ownership thread if possible or at least post some nice pictures here.

Enjoy a fine quality product... sans the dsg of course. :D

Goes without saying, I picked up the Manual Transmission. Got it for 12.5, which is almost 50 % of the cost of the new one (in Mumbai) with extended warranty till 2015. Well, need to give it a good internal & external treatment (polish) before posting any pictures. Won't be able to come anywhere close to your postings ;-). But will surely post the pics soon. Cheers

You can contact Blaupunkt on their facebook page here - http://www.facebook.com/BlaupunktIndia?fref=ts by sending them a PM. The concerned sales/regional manager of your area will get back to you.

Dkaile it looks good. But I guess you will have to get this fixed through Skoda so that the warranty is not affected. Though I am not sure if they will allow you to get this fixed outside. In fact the car that I bought has a Caska system, which frankly I don't need as i will never ever watch DVDs in my Car. I am getting the Original System fixed back in place of Caska. So if anyone is interested in purchasing the Caska unit can surely get in touch.

You have a point there. But Blaupunkt has assured me that it is simple plug and play job which takes 10 minutes from their installer and in any case it can always be taken out for warranty claims, if it comes to that. But they have also assured me that their product is VAG approved and does not void warranty. Caska units are quite low in overall quality and the Chinese head units can never be really compared to these German counterparts.

At around 10,700 kms, the car has eaten around half a liter of oil again today. 1st time after the 1st service. Blistering heat seems to be the culprit. Rest is A OK.

Does it give a warning on the MID or do you need to keep checking?

A warning does come up on the MID

I am a checking kind of a guy! I don't like it to drop to alarmingly low levels that a dash/MID warning is needed.

Does the warning come up even when it goes down a little like 0.5L scenario above?

I am not sure. I usually wait for the warning. However, it is advisable to check it manually every few weeks.

The electronic oil meters are pretty accurate these days. I think in the future the manual dip stick will be phased out. My RS5 does not have a manual dipstick to check the oil level.
