Hi

Thanks for sharing. I have ordered the same after looking at the results shared by you.

I have been using Meguiars Yellow Wax which is slightly difficult to buff. Here is a picture from my last detailed cleaning session.

Must be really painful to finish detailing the Hexa in a day though! Twice as big as the Punto when we compare the sheet metal area. Do you finish a few panels a day, or finish the whole car in one go?

Nice gloss on the Vento!

Hope you didn't miss the earlier post of mine which said Waxpol is very difficult too! I haven't used Meguairs Yellow Wax - so can't comment how is Waxpol in comparison, but it is definitely harder to apply and buff compared to 3M Tech Wax which I have used earlier. Infact - it is even difficult to get a layer on the applicator pad!

Initial impression seem good in terms of the results though - and of course - the price is very VFM as well in comparison to Meguairs.

Yeah, I did complete the whole car in one day. Since the car was washed at the end of the previous day, next day I dusted, rewiped the whole car and started off with the detailing. Spent about 3-hrs on detailing the painted panels of the car, about half an hour for dressing the plastic claddings all around. I didn't touch the roof though. At the end, it was a very tiring session for me. It was then I realised I was pampering an elephant!

Now that the initial session is done - my plan is to maintain it by working half the car at a time - front, roof and rear at a time and sides on the next wash.

So that the detailing sessions can be more frequent and less tiring.

For an enthusiast it doesn't matter on whether the car is new or old. We just keep clicking at every given chance.

By the way, you have clicked at this location before as well, right?!

Yes. Around two years back I think.

Its right inside office campus and I really like the place. Been wanting to take the bike there since long, but that plan never really materialised.

Oriental Insurance offered 9.9k for an IDV of 3.9L and depreciation cover included.
Hi, I am starting 6th year next week and Royal Sundaram are quoting 16k (IDV 5L) with zero depreciation cover for my Linea T-Jet. Did you buy insurance offline as I don't see an option to buy insurance other than for new car on Oriental Insurance website? I am planning to switch over as well. Thanks.

For 5th year, I paid 14K/IDV 5.19L with zero depreciation. So, negotiate with them for a lower price.

Anyone using 195/65 R15 on their Punto for a long term? I'm planning to go a size thicker from the stock 195/60 R15 - for the increased comfort.

And Michelins this time around.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I got it offline from a friend. Oriental is a typical public sector service and their website doesn't help much.

Front will not have problems. The rear will have with the wheels scraping. I would suggest stick to stock size unless you plan to alter the wheel wheel claddings to suit the taller profile tyres.

PS: my linea too is nearing a tyre change. I am eyeing Michelins too.

Not on Punto but I am using it in the Ertiga for the last 50K Kms easily (Primacy 3STs).

The stock is 185/65/15 and the best upgrade options are 205/60 an d 195/60.

I have earlier used 205/60 (again Michelins but XM2s) for nearly 93K kms.

During the last change, I wanted to try 195s but didn't want to lose on GC and took plunge and picked the 195/65 assuming the difference in speedo error is still not huge and that the wheel wheel of the Ertiga are generous enough.

Thankfully, I was satisfied with that little bit of increased ride height, mainly on concrete roads where the ride quality felt better. I could notice little or no change in the handling abilities.

But with Punto, you may want to hear it from the Punto owners like Krishna has pointed.

The only negative (or positive) I noticed is the speedo error now almost matches real world speeds but that also means the Odo reading is not really accurate (Almost 3 kms less for every 100 kms driven) and due to this the MID also show you different numbers for Average FE etc. So when you are cruising at 120 KMPH, your family members momentarily staring at the Dial know you are still within the decent limits on a Fast highway .

Fully loaded KP? That's less than 1% of my usage I guess. The front two seats only are occupied 99% of the time!

Because the clearance looks more than a few cms on all sides, on either ends. The increase in sidewall thickness is going to be 1cm. 2cm increase in diameter.

Rear -

Not as enthusiastic as earlier now to carve corners, so I can live with slightly more body roll, if any. Just looking for even better ride quality this time around. The suspension is good as always, but I've always felt thicker rubber might help improve the low speed ride a little more.

Anyways, the Punto was jacked up with a 185mm ride height, so wondering why not!
