Thanks a lot guys! Even after touching 1Lac Kms its so smooth and peppy. Also in last service i got the pressured checked on cylinders and they are very much in good limits! In last 4yrs of my ownership it has hardly given me any expense. Awesome Machine!

Congratulations devrajman. Look after the Zen and she will easily show you a clean slate again and yet again.

I had a 1996 Zen that had 168000 kms on the odometer, when she was stolen last year.

This car is built to last and to be driven. Enjoy & drive safe.

Re: '99 Maruti Zen - Ownership Review

Hi all, I have a 1997 carb zen done 135000 Km. The right side (driver side as in india) drive shaft rubber boot near the wheels cracks open on an average 1.5 years. The other side never does. Do you guys face a similar problem???
I get the boot replaced, after cleaning and applying fresh grease to the CV joint components for that side only. All works well no noise etc.

Makes me always wonder that why did Maruti had to stop its production? I see a lot of takers of the old Zen even now. Precisely, its a 20 year old design but still looks ageless. IMO, Maruti should seriously contemplate reviving the MH410...but only without making it ugly in order to compete against new tall boys. Remember Maruti's adventure of Zen Classic?

However, on the other hand, with the current stuff that the guys are smoking like their launch of useless limited editions, Feliz (Ertiga), Estilofying, etc. its better to leave the car as it is- A Classic Cult!
