When you say coasting between downshift, do you mean shifting to neutral or coast till the lowest recommended speed for that gear and then downshift? I use the tankful-tankful method as well but in my case the mileage indicator readout is higher than the actual figure by 1 km. E.g. If the tankful-tankful method indicates I got an overall FE of 14.2 kmpl, the mileage indicator in the instrument cluster indicates 15.2 kmpl. |

Basic rules Never ever coast in neutral for FE sake:Shockked:, its dangerous to drive with no power on wheels, leading to serious loss of control. |

Is it better than Swift to drive? Have you tested the FE with AC on on highways on TFM? |

Let me answer that - The FE on the highway for my brio varies between 13.5 to 19 depending on how I drive. It also depends on time of day, the best FE is during early mornings when its cold outside. |

The first gear is still notchy (3000kms) on my car. In gear acceleration is typical of any Honda Vtec engine and if you are in the sweet spot, you get rewarded with a hoooosh!! |

Sorry for jumping in late gpa, but hearty congratulations to you. I am very glad to find a partner now as I too have a Taffeta White Brio S(O). I have felt the AC drains the acceleration to a fair extent, that is the car needs to be revved higher, what do you say? |

Congrats gpa! Nice car there! Ride safe and enjoy! So I told him I need one since I had never ever driven a Honda! Then got the stock reply that the TD car had gone out and will be back by 11.00 AM and then they will give me a call. I am yet to receive the call! |

Congrats GPA on your new purchase. I might be little late in wishing though. By the way after reading your experience with Honda A.S.S I probably should never complain about Ford A.S.S. It seems like a 5 star hotel treatment in comparison at Elite Ford, Bangalore. |

The notchy first gear has improved considerably in my car but I expect shifting to be smooth once the car crosses the 5k kms mark. You are right about the 'hooosh' and that can be a very hard addiction to get rid of. |

Mind you I have upsized MRF ZLO tyres so the efficiency will be higher with the stock rubber. You can cruise comfortably at 120-130 and still get an FE of around 15-16. If you drive between 90-100, it'll shoot up to around 18-19. It also depends on time of day, the best FE is during early mornings when its cold outside. |

Hey how has your experience been with the Brio? Like other than fuel efficiency, what are good parts about it and what are the parts you do not like about it? I was thinking of getting one for my sister. |

Its been pretty trouble free so far - my car has done around 15k km and has been pretty much trouble free. Its a great little city commuter car with reasonable high way ability. The engine is a lot smoother than when it was purchased and is a lot more free revving too. The only issues I've had so far are with the horn which was replaced under warranty and a rattle in the dashboard. The latter gets fixed every time at service but ends up returning after a few days. I've given up on that one now as it only comes up occasionally and doesn't bother me too much. |

Hows the seating position? And is it like a good highway car? It's nice to hear the car gets better with time. And what about the servicing costs and stuff, are they like lower than the competition? |

Its very comfortable for a small hatch. I'm 6'1" and I fit in it without any trouble. Both ingress and egress are excellent. However I'd have preferred a lower driving position. Compared to my other car this feels way too high up from the ground. On the highway the seats are extremely comfortable - they are replicas of bucket seats so there's more than enough side bolstering which helps in avoiding fatigue. As for servicing costs, I paid 1800 all inc for the 10000km service and 3300 for the 20000km service. Seems pretty reasonable to me. |

Any update on this? Even my 2 weeks old rattles sometimes. Feel it more during quiet / late evening rides. My 1st service is due later this month, need to get this sorted out. -BJ |

Firstly ofcourse many congratulations on the purchase. I too am a bit surprised at hearing about the honda sales attitude , my experience with them in Delhi has been excellent - i wish my Skoda guys had half the product knowledge and courtesy ! Glad to hear that all the problems were sorted out at the H.A.S.S ! |

Hi Puchoo, Can you please recommend your Honda Dealership? I am in the market to buy a Brio and would prefer a proven dealership to avoid any horror stories. |
