I was stuck with the same thought for a while but finally went ahead and did it. Believe me you wouldn't regret it because it does have that much impact on the front end even if its just a tiny silver part there. Makes it look more mean ass, even in some one else's rear view mirror, more so if the car is black or imperial blue.

Another confusion was whether to go for matt black or gloss. If its gloss, it should be done without even the slightest dust or even a hair line mark. The clear coat should be spotless to give it the OE feel. I went with gloss and felt it looked better.

Man, that's patience! I ripped it off right at the dealer before delivery itself.

I am away from home and have only a couple of mobile snaps to share.. The lighting was poor as it was taken late evening when the job was done. However this should give you an idea..

After this paint job, a couple of guys (a cousin once and a friend an other time) whom I was following behind in my car, asked me like what did I do to the car to make it look so menacing. They said, in their rear view mirror it was just the DRLs visible and with that wide and low killing stance of the car (imagine how it would look if lowered!), they said it looked like some sports car was following 'em, and they couldn't make out so easily what was different from the stock car. That's what acknowledged the fact that getting rid of chrome grill and silver whiskers did transform the car beyond what one would imagine. The smallest of mods done tastefully on the right part can do wonders.

Right now, the eye sore is the license plate on that bumper. I mean, not the type of plate or font, but the existence of plate itself.

You car looks HOT

Definitely the smoked out whiskers & the black grille ( in your case its the double slat grille ) look really good on dark cars. On white too it will give a good look i assume. Shall get this done soon

Thanks! Delicious. They look good enough to eat.

Where did you get them? How's the quality?

I hate the black tips on my 530d. Want to change them.
