Not yet as there is no worthy upgrade alternative in the Indian G20 line up & other upgrades are really out of my current budget.

However an addition to the current garage from a different segment is planned in the coming weeks

No i haven't & not considering it too as the C Class is at the fag end of its lifecycle and will be replaced by an all new model by next year globally.

How about an S5 sportback? They are going pretty cheap these days. Tonnes of fun and a plain remap gets you to 425 HP or thereabouts.

New Battery & Other Maintenance !

New Battery;

The ULTIMAT3- F30 BMW 328i. EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust, Injen Intake & Steinbauer Power Module-img_20191031_120939.jpg

So the car is now 7+ years old, with approx 35k kms on the odometer and surprisingly the car's original battery was still running strong and there's no intimation from the iDrive too about it nor there was any indication on cold starts.
Very happy with the life i got with the existing battery (still not dead BTW) & proud of my driving pattern too as BMW's do tend to get temperamental if you dont drive them often
However, as a pre-cautionary measure i went ahead and installed a New Battery at Infinity BMW's Turbhe workshop.
Total Cost for the battery was aprox INR 34k, but as the car is 7+ years old i got a 18% discount hence it cost me aprox INR 27k.

Other Issues;

The car's wheel speed sensor had konked off (cluster throws up ABS, Traction Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring / Flat tyre etc lights, its a very common issue in the F30), hence got it diagnosed and upon scanning it turned out to be the rear left wheels sensor.
The sensor part cost was aprox INR 7.5k.
Yet another issue was the car was having some high rpm hesitation and had some idling issues sometimes. Hence with the help of my BlueDriver bluetooth OBD scanning tool i had self diagnosed this to be a faulty camshaft sensor. But once Infinity BMW was informed about this upon inspection they found the sensor to have been having a lose connection hence this was causing the issue, thankfully this was sorted then and there itself.

Total Labour for all the above work of battery installation, battery leak test & other tests, wheel speed sensor install & other troubleshooting was aprox INR 14k.

Great job done by Infinity BMW, Turbhe workshop & special thanks to our very own BHPian Maverick5490

Hi Karan. To say this is a problem is an understatement. I was planning to have them replaced through the many options that Aliexpress offers you, but this seems way more practical as I would not need to remove my inner door panels and then drill them out. How much did this cost and did this just involve popping the outer covering off through the lower slot?

Hi,

I believe the doorpads had to be removed to get the grab handles out.

IIRC i paid a total of aprox INR 7.5k (incl. taxes) for the entire job

Thanks, Karan. I was hoping to avoid removing the handles as they have to be drilled out and then re-fixed using jugaad, even if you use the after market plastic replacements. I've heard getting it replace at the dealer costs about 8K using the original part. It appears BMW is well aware of this and has made this relatively cheap to replace. Know anything about this?

I've swapped the above at BMW Infinity.
Costs are around 8k as you mentioned, but having sat in a fellow BHPians (iliketurtles) ride with the leather grab handles - they do feel more premium and shouldn't age as poorly.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be looking at having it done in leather as a first option.

Does anyone know a good place to get this done in Bangalore?

OCD triggered its like the needles are magnetically pointing the same direction, even the fuel tank and temp gauge. What is your review on the Steinbauer box? Is the car still under extended warranty?

I mean, your speedo is just a little bit over the 120 kmph restriction of our forum.
