Faults so far;

1) Rear Right Power window malfunction;

It wasn't a complete malfunction but a disorder of sorts, it was like the window was coming down not in one go but was taking its own time & getting down in stages, the same issue while going up.

Took it to the BMW SA & got the winder replaced under warranty.

Note: Wasn't in stock, took 2 weeks to arrive.

Now working fine

2) Last few months there was an Error the car was throwing up that the "Coolant Level Low" ;

The ULTIMAT3- F30 BMW 328i. EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust, Injen Intake & Steinbauer Power Module-image338235113.jpg

I went to BMW and got it checked, the coolant level was perfectly normal. They did a programming which they though could solve the issue & it did.

But soon the error came up again, & was annoying. After checking up BMW forums worldwide, came to know that this was an common issue with the F30's (328i's). The solution which was suggested on these forums was replacing the coolant tank + sensor.

I suggested the same to my SA @ BMW Infinity (Chembur), he agreed & got permission to replace both the parts (coolant tank + Sensor) under warranty.

And VOILA, Problem solved

Its been over a month now and no coolant level error till date.

Here's a pic of my car leaving the Infinity Chembur Workshop after work done;

re: The ULTIMAT3 - F30 BMW 328i EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust & INJEN intake!

Hey guys!!

Sorry for the long gap between posts. Soon after taking delivery of my 328i, i had to go out of town for a while and only came back recently.

I am now happy to announce that i have completed the 2000 KM run-in on my baby a few days ago and finally got the opportunity to put her to the test.

Airport to Jubilee Hills via the ORR. It was raining considerably and there was quite some traffic on the airport road so i decided to try the sport mode and boy was she running. i couldn't take my eyes off the road (& traffic) in front but i caught a couple a glimpses of the rev counter going all the way upto 7k. The sound of the engine was so mesmerizing that my wife actually turned off the music to listen to the engine rev.
Despite the lashing rain, the rubber gripped the road as if it had claws.

The ORR was altogether another story. Sport+ was the mode of choice. i came to a complete halt on the last lane and waited for a clear path and 'almost' floored the accelerator. the engine that was totally silent till then came alive with a subtle roar and we were pushed back into our seats a screech and before we knew it, we were way beyond the 100 kmph mark. What a RUSH!! i didn't dare to push it beyond 180 as it was raining and there were quite a few slow moving trucks and cars on the stretch. But boy was it fun.

Overall: 1. Control Control Control
a. Superb handling (and braking)
b. amazing road grip

2. POWERful
a. surprisingly torquey
b. very good acceleration
c. very little turbo lag

3. Suspensions albeit are not as cushy as one would expect from a sub 50L car, but i guess that is price one has to pay for the stiffer suspensions and the control that cometh along.

4. The iDrive and the HUD are some of the features that absolutely bowled me over. The ICE, esp the webradio in the BMW apps features amazing stations from around the world. with a stereo system to match it is an audiophiles delight.

I will be taking her out soon (during day time and when the weather is high and dry) and push her to the limit. unitl next time ....

re: The ULTIMAT3 - F30 BMW 328i EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust & INJEN intake!

I've noticed that when I use ECO PRO mode the exhaust sounds much fruitier.

The burbles & overrun pops from the exhaust when lifting foot off the throttle are more pronounced and frequent than when I'm in Sport or Sport+ modes.

On researching this observation got to know that in ECO PRO mode both exhaust valves are opened up & hence it sounds better, But shouldn't this happen in the Sport or Sport+ modes only ?

Hmmn, Thats a neat observation. I haven't used the ECO PRO mode that extensively, It is just not the BM anymore, and i cannot handle the loose steering. But will check as well.
