I think this is quite common with Punto/Linea front seat. My Punto's front left seat has the rattle from the day I got the car. For each service they will take the seat out and lubricate it, but the noise returns after a month's use. Now I have decided to live with it as the rattle is very muted and is not heard at all with music on.

Seems like a common issue. I will chase the service center to give me a permanent fix and will not allow them to lubricate it (if this is a stop gap arrangement). Lets see what they come up with. I will update the thread once they provide me any fix other than the lubricating the seat.

Looks like the lube is drying out.

1) Try pure silicone grease

2) Try Super Lube (from the USA)

Google and Amazon are your friends!

re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Visited Madhus on the way back from office for wheel balancing and alignment as the car had done close to 4000 kms and was having a wobble around the speeds of 90 kmph. Took about 30 mins and a 1000 bucks to get the work done. Had to change directions of two tyres and nitrogen refill increased the bill by around 250 bucks.

First a puncture scare

re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

A two part update mileage and a new issue.

Mileage update:

97th Refill: 402.1 kms - 27.01 liters - 14.89 KMPL (MID 15.2 kmpl) - Average Speed 17 kmph - Rs. 59.38/- per litre from HPCL near CBI Road.

Issue

There is a minor coolant leak which is causing the coolant level to drop very slowly. Its losing around 100 ml or so in a week. Seems like the latch/clamp has gone lose or kaput. Will need to get this fixed.

re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

The car was quite dirty over the past week. I washed the car on Tuesday evening but had no time and energy left for waxing the car. Today morning got up early and did just that.

Products used. Meguairs Tech wax 2.0, Meguairs Alloys Shine, Meguairs Glass Cleaner and Meguairs Tyre Foam.

re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Got the coolant leakage fixed yesterday. The culprits were the lose clamps of the hoses connected to the thermostat valve which needed replacement, the hoses were fine with not sign of cracking or giving away. The cost for fixing this was 670 bucks for two clamps, 2 liters of premix coolant, silicon glue and labour.

The picture for illustration of the location of the clamps.

Breached the 36000 kms mark on the odo a couple of days back.

A customary pic.

I tried something similar. Illustrates the stats very nicely.

Are you still facing this issue? I am getting a similar sound from the front passenger seat. Even when I tap the seat from behind, I get this sound. But it doesn't come when this seat is occupied.

re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

A few updates after some gap, the odo milestone, mileage, AC Filter Change and a few pics after the car was washed and waxed.

37000 mark

Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed-37000.jpg

Mileage update:

99th Refill: 350.7 kms - 22.31 liters - 15.72 KMPL (MID 15.6 kmpl) - Average Speed 17 kmph - Rs. 60/- per litre from HPCL near CBI Road.

100th Refill: 290.3 kms - 18.02 liters - 16.11 KMPL (MID 16.3 kmpl) - Average Speed 18 kmph - Rs. 60/- per litre from HPCL near CBI Road.

AC Filter Change

Off late was feeling that the AC cooling was a bit lower and the blower speeds too. Decided to remove the AC filter and check how bad it is. The filter had turned blackish and decided to replace the one which I had stocked from some time.

Yes, the issue is still present, haven't had time to visit the service center. A couple of appointments made and cancelled. I guess the sound which you are mentioning would be taken care with the anti-rust/lube spray. In my car, the seat rails has an issue.
