I am also planning for a used Linea if you come across a good deal do let me know.
The drive-ability has increased significantly post remap. Has enough torque to take the humps in 2nd gear unless it is a real nasty one. City traffic you will surely make out the difference with the increased torque.

Sure, will do let you know if a used Linea comes across in my circle.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Faced 2 issues recently, both of the fixed.

1. Small Leakage with the oil sump joints. Removed, reapplied the sealant and installed it back. Issue resolved.

2. Strut pad of the front left suspension conked and it made a racket every time it went over a rough patch of the road. Replaced and the issue is resolved.

The struts have weakened, it needs replacement. I will have front and rear struts replaced at one shot.

Apart from this, the Odo is inching towards 101K now.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Hi nkrishnap,

Is this your first strut set replacecment ? My Evo is at 42K and the struts already have a wooden feel to it. Especially the rear ones, front left bushes replaced twice already.

I'm at the verge of shifting to the Pre 2012 non jacked-up struts, hoping thats more pliant, at the risk of scraping the underbelly.

The car usually has been babied around, but it has had its fair share of rough roads in interior Idukki and Ooty, but nothing to bust them this early.

Wow, you are really rocking it . I think I am stuck at 40ish K in my 2012 Linea, hardly get to use it once in 2 weeks as I prefer using my bike for office commute now and the other car being put to more use.

The only issue I get to see is the AC water drain pipe getting clogged once a year or so, and the audio system doesnt work the way it should, probably need to change it now.
Other than that its working perfectly. I just wish I could use it more, but that doesnt seem to be happening. Had even thought of putting it on the market but a KA number in HR land has its own challenges. Its a lovely car though.

The AC Drain pipe has a flap, just slit it and you wont have the clogging issue. I have done that, it has never blocked ever since.

You will find a few in Bangalore which are up for sale. Saw a Tjet up for sale a couple of weeks back. Do search you will find them.

Not looking for Tjet, looking for Emotion or Emotion Pk Multijet. Those cars are hardly for sale here in Bangalore. I checked in Olx, Quikr, Cartrade, Carwale, Team-bhp, Cardekho. Planning to do used car offline shop hopping now.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Crossed the 101,000 mark a couple days back.

The strut pads and the struts are showing age. No noises as such, but the suspension has gone soft to my liking. I will change these soon. A round of preventive maintenance to ensure this runs for a couple of more years at the least.

Will be switching over from Selenia oil, it costs 650 bucks a litre. There are better oils out there for a little higher price.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

An update after a while. The car was stationary for the last 3 weeks or so without much running. A few preventive repairs/maintenance was done and here is the list.

Battery Charge

Battery failed to crank once and showed low voltage. Recharged the battery and now working as expected. But may need replacement in a couple of months by the looks of it.

Front and Rear Struts, Front Strut Pads Replaced

Since the car had crossed the 1 lakh milestone and the suspension felt soft to my liking. Mind you the car has taken lot of abuse with all sorts of loads it was carrying. Hence decided to replace the struts all round and the front strut pads.

Condition of the old strut

Brake Cleaning

Since the wheels were opened up, the brakes were cleaned too.

Inter-cooler and Inter-cooler Hose Clean up

Removed the inter-cooler and cleaned it thoroughly. The inlet hose has become week and expanded near the inter-cooler mount. Replaced the inlet hose, and the outlet hose seemed to be in good condition and it was cleaned thoroughly. All 4 clamps for the mounts were replaced.

Note: My hands were dirty and could not take pics during the cleaning process.

New Tyres - Michelin Primacy 4ST this time

Continentals had done about 56,200 kms and I was aware of the fact that it is almost at the end of its life. Initially the life promised was about 35 to 40k kms and this has lasted way beyond the 40K number. Though I could have pushed these tyres by another 4 to 5 thousand kms, decided against it and got the new tyres. This time it had to be Michelins.

1st Set - Good Year NCT - 18xxx kms
2nd Set - Hankook Ventus Evo V12 - 26xxx kms
3rd Set - Continental MC5 - 56200 kms
4th Set - Michelin Primacy 4ST

All 4 tyres were made in the 31st week of 2018.

Balancing and Alignment Done post tyre replacement.

Tyre cost - 9200 per tyre with valve included

Nikhil's team managed to capture these shots while the alignment was being done.

Initial observations over MC5 in the 20 odd kms driven

1. Quieter tyres
2. A wee bit lighter steering
3. Little plusher ride.

Will clock in a few more kms to assess and note more observations.

Oil, Oil Filter, Diesel Filter, Air Filter and AC Filter changed/replaced

Once the car clocked 100,000 kms mark, got the all the filters and the engine oil changed. Will be switching over to better engine oil once I clock about another 6 or 7K kms. Had stock of Selenia oil and now it is exhausted, the car wont see Selenia oil anytime soon.

Great work nkrishnap. You have been maintaining your car wonderfully well. I see that your house is in Girinagar. Where are you getting your car serviced? Is it at Vecto or some other FNG.

Amazing krishna. Great job in maintaining your vehicle yourself. That shows your love and passion for your vehicle. No wonder the car is going to serve you many more miles

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

The odo reading has started climbing again albeit slowly.

Crossed the 102,000 mark.

Got the remote replaced as the key was accidentally dropped into a bucket with soap water. It started acting weird post that. Did not want to take chance, replaced the remote key and got the key mapping done in the ECU.

Total cost was around 5700 bucks

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Got a pair of mini LEDs from Aliexpress to plonk them on the R3. However, though the bulb sits fine and is bright, the dust caps dont sit. Since I could not mount it on the R3, I decided to put these in the Linea. Fits perfectly fine and it was a 10 min job swapping the halogens to LEDs. These cost me around 1800 bucks.

Packet as it arrived

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

A few updates

LED Bulbs

One of the LED bulbs conked within 6 hours of usage. Removed these and plonked in Osram Night Breaker Laser H7 bulbs for the low beam.

Milestone Update

Crossed the 103,000 kms mark on the odometer last Thursday while returning from Davangere.
