Might have to get the 15k service done by this month end at this rate.
When is the new service starting ? Is the new one at Hosur road already started in terms of service?

The new one is yet to start. Tentatively scheduled to start by end of third week. Will check on Monday and update.

nkrishnap,
First of all, your car looks amazing. I love the Linea's looks.

I have a few questions for you ,
1.How much did the race chip cost you? Does it affect warranty?
2.What are your views on the build quality of the vehicle? A lot of people do not have good things to say about the Linea in this area.
3. Without the Race chip, is the pick up bad, compared to the Vento/Rapid?

Let me answer your questions pointwise.

1. I do not have any race Chip on the car. Still researching about it.

2. The build quality of LINEA is very good. I am surprised that you are getting negative reviews of build quality of LINEA. Actually the build quality of LINEA is it's strength. Can I ask where you are hearing these stuff from?

3. As the saying goes, there is no replacement for displacement. But LINEA is not that underpowered as it is made out to be. The mid range is quite good which is quite evident from the roll on figures in third and fourth gear.

Do feel free to ask if you have any more questions

I thought the build quality is solid. Its with the finishing which I think people don't have good views about. Even you can differentiate in that as well. I think for example paint top is superb.

Of course I say this of whatever I have seen. I dont own one though.

The Only area it lacks is quality of plastics used when compared to competition, other than that, build quality is best in its segment.

Hey,
Sorry about the race chip. I had this thread mixed up with some other one. Didn't mean to ask you about the race chip.

Apart from that, a friend of mine owns a T-Jet and he was complaining about the numerous rattles from his cabin. Another buddy has the same issue with his Petrol Linea. So, I just thought of asking you how your experience has been in this regard. And as far as plastic quality is concerned, I think build is what actually matters, not the material.

My car had not rattles, but I had meddled with the Door pads a couple of times, and a faint rattle started from the left door. That was easily fixed.

The plastics may not look great and extraordinary. But they are quite sturdy and will take the abuse. What is lacking in the car is the attention to detail in the assembly line to ensure things are neatly done with respect to fit and finish at the shop floor level.

Other wise, the car definitely will stand the test of time. The build quality gives you that secure feeling.

That is one well written and updated thread. Great work, nkrishnap. The car is absolutely gorgeous and the pictures way too brilliant, especially so for the pics on the beach at the very beginning of the thread. Have many more happy miles on it !

re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

The car is nearing 15000 kms with another 500 kms to go and the service remainder has already started in the MID.

Will be sticking to Selenia engine oil instead of Mobil 1 Delvac or Shell. The current oil had exactly run 10000 kms and this will be the range I will stick to for oil change going forward.

You never know, I might go beyond the 15000 mark and then give it for service

Engine mods, the progress is only on research, nothing concrete yet. May get delayed by a few months.

Cant beat Karthik's Tjet and Punto sports in terms of maintenance of cars.
