Well the above image creates that illusion simply because the Fortuner is parked behind the Endeavour by a good 2 - 3 feet.
Check out another picture which i had clicked from a different angle;

Hey bro. Saw your Fortuner this morning on one of the toll booths while going towards Pune. I doubt you were driving it. Couldn't get a clear look though. The moment I saw DN and Team-BHP, I was like this has to be Karan's car.
I hope someday I get to see the 328i. "Will try and chase you and make you pullover"

re: My BRUTE-FORT: Toyota Fortuner 4x4 M/T [Upgraded Brake Booster & A/T Tyres] EDIT: Now sold!

Hi there,

I am considering to buy a pre owned fortuner in Bangalore, having heard a lot of stories regarding the fraud practices by dealers and also the selling owners I want some one to help me in this matter...

1) how do I check the odometer fraud?

2) when I get the service records from the seller, will it also be possible to cross check the same at the service centers?

3) what are the major mechanical or technical scrutiny which has to be taken care of?

4) will it be wise to buy a vehicle that is around 1,00,000 kms done?

any help in this regard would be appreciated..
thanks..

P.S. will it not be in the good for all the people here if the experts on Team BHP actually start a Pre-owned fortuner thread. I guess this is one SUV which is most sought after in Indian markets since used for tuners are affordable now.

Well I do not own a Fortuner but I follow the Fortuner threads with interest, experts may give a different opinion. But from what I have seen, the Fortuner engine should serve you upto 3L KM without any major overhauling, so it should not be a problem if you buy a 80K/ 100K run Fortuner.

Good to know. Any issues? How are the tyres? I will have to start thinking of tyre replacement after a trip or two.

Not too many Fortuner threads or posts. It is mostly a boring ownership experience, not much spicy stuff to report. The vehicle goes on and on without tantrums

Service Update: 70,000 kms

The car went in for service yesterday at Millennium Toyota Thane around 10 am & work got done by around 5 pm.

This 70k service included oil & filter changes, brake cleaning, with other inspection & washing.

The bill was aprox Rs 6200, BUT during last service there was a difference amount of aprox Rs 900 to be given by service guys as they had overcharged me for grease (for propeller shaft). Refer this POST ---> http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...ml#post3889880

I reminded them and they gladly agreed & gave a discount making the final bill of Rs 5169/- Including taxes.

Agreed, that is the reason why people prefer a Toyota over a Tata vehicle.
Surprising to learn that your's is a boring ownership experience, your Fortuner takes you to such places where very few would dare to roam around.

Boring - regarding maintenance, not regarding the way the vehicle is used. It was a tongue in cheek comment.

How are the tyres doing? I have an 'it's complicated' relationship with the Pirellis.

The Continentals are doing good, clocked around 35k+.

Had 2 punctures so far (both happened post 30k kms of running) so its OK.
