40,000 kms on my Accent GLE

Hey everyone,

It's happy birthday to my car. Wish to put my experience on my Accent GLE.

Purchase Date: June 1, 2005
Kilometres Driven: 39,500 kms (Service Period Nearing at 40,000 kms)

You can guess how I roughly used the vehicle. Almost 40,000 kms in 1 year. I'm from kerala which is a very humid place and rains almost throughout the year.

Complaints : None. Not even rusting of any single minute part. Feels cabin noise has increased a bit but not irritating though. Could be due to the ageing Bridgestone Radials. Planning for Michelin Energy XM1 next time. Anyway Hyundai said they'll be rectifying that at the next service.

Total Amount spend in car for Service:

Ist Free Service: Rs. 23
2nd Free Service: Rs. 23
3rd Free Service: Rs. 23

4th Service (Paid): Rs. 3169

Spare Part Changed: Brake Pads at 25000 kms. Amount Rs. 1667

Amount spend on other other items (Underbody coating, Seat Covers, Engine Flushing with Solutions, Carpets, Stero System etc.) : Rs. 23,225

Total Spend on Car: Rs. 28,130 /-

Purchase Price (On-Road): Rs. 5,60,000/-

Very much satisfied with the vehicle. Mileage obtained as follows:

Average Obtained mostly: 12.50 kms/l
Average Mileage when checked last time: 14.21 kms/l
Worst Mileage ever obtained: 10.45 kms/l
Best Mileage ever obtained: 17.07km/l

So please wish my car "Happy Birthday". Let me throw a virtual party to you all. I'm making ready wines and all kinds of drinks out here.

All are invited!!!!!

Regards,

Adarsh

Wow, my OHC 1.3 is about that old, and I've spent a packet on it, not including what insurance paid for scrapes. Its 4 or five times that amount, really! Am NOT buying a Honda again, though I love the car itself
12.5 in city sounds awesome too. Need to amputate my lead foot and go for something lighter

No zenx the figure of 12.5 is not for city. It's actually the average mileage thats 50% in city and bad roads and the rest 50% in highways. I'vent checked particular in city alone. The figure of 17.07 I obtained once was purely highway driving. And that figure of 10.45 was almost fully in city. So that can be considered as city mileage. And insurance has been renewed this time with New India Assurance. It was HDFC last year. Got a no claim bonus of around 5000 bucks. It came to 13,900 this time after the no claim bonus.

Well my car is expecting gifts from you in the form of K&N Air filters, Nakamichi Audio Systems, Spoilers, Xenon headlamps etc.

Steeroid's that was a fantastic review from your side. But your car is Accent GLS and mine is GLE. So may be speedbuster is correct that this may be first review on GLE.

But steeroid's review is better presented than mine. Good work...

I left my accent GLS at the trident workshop on Kanakapura road. It was supposed to be regular service (Rs.2700). The manager calls me up and says that he has detected a leak in the radiator connector tubes which carry the coolant. He recommends replacing the entire assembly. The cost estimate for that alone inlcuding parts is Rs6000 (inlcudes hose, connector tubes right and left elbows etc).
Does this estimate sound right? In any case I guess I have to get it done now.

The car other than this is fine. Bought it in nov 2003. Its done only 42K. Did a tyre change at 39K. Mileage is around 11 in full city mode and 15 in full highway mode.
