Regarding the roof carrier, can it be removed and kept aside and installed only when needed. I feel it is better to keep just the cross rails and install the roof rack when needed to reduce wind resistance and improve fuel efficiency.

Was the Roof rack OEM Accessory?

thx
Thank you 4*4 addict,

1.Yes it can be removed and refitted if you are a mechanically inclined person. They are just 'O' shaped brackets which fit around the roof bars. You are right about fuel efficiency.
2.It is OEM accessory costs around 6k.

If no wire alternations are being made for the HID Kit as well and Projector headlamps then why should Ford allow one and not the other? I see no logic in their answer.

Also, the projector lamps they are installing are from some local company called "Janam". I have personally never heard of this brand! Any clue?
Dear xuv2390,

with you about the warranty but the claim is from AVK and not from Ford(Ford only allows 55/60w replacements and not for projectors or HIDs).

And 'janam' sounds like a joke rather than a brand,no ways I am going to install janam.

Thanks for sharing

Ecosport,
Regarding the Hella lamps, what is the colour of the light? I have been using Osram Nightbreakers on my Dzire since the last couple years, which are better than the stock lamps, but there is a lot of scope for improvement even though they claim 90% more/brighter light.

I would be upgrading the lights on my Ecosport as well and I don't want to fiddle around with the warranty.

I've been doing some research on projectors for the Ecopsort and I never came across this "Janam" brand, should be some chinese kit being sold at 2-3 times the price.

If going the projector way, why not get proper one's like Morimoto's ? These are designed to fit most H4 bulbs without any modifications, so headlight cutting etc. Remove the H4 bulb and the locking clamp, then fit the new projectors in place. The ballast and relays are all connector type too, so may not need any wire cutting.

Re: My Silver Ford EcoSport Titanium (O) TDCi. First delivered in India!

Hi guys,
Gathered some of the aftermarket accessories available for ecosport, as lot of people seem to be waiting for them.I recommend you exercise caution as the quality might not be equivalent to the OEM accessories and especially the electrical ones will void warranty. Here are a few and I think more will follow.
  • Screen for reverse sensor and camera, for trend and ambiente models.
  • Outer ring chrome trim for fog lamps
  • Front and rear bumber appliques.(matt steel finish and glossy steel finishes are available)
  • DRLs integrated with fog lamps.
  • Chrome garnish for all lamps(tailgate lamps, headlamps, reverse lamps)
  • Rain visors and 18 piece chrome set for Bpillars and other places
  • Rubber mats with blue or red lining for all bottle holders and cubby holes
  • Steel matt finish rear bumber loading bay protector.(fixed on top of rear bumper)
  • BMW like side step.
  • Seat belt buckle
  • Lock guard to conceal screws.
  • Projector head lamps
  • Wooden finish paneling as you can see in the modified trend model
  • Led scuff plates
  • Chrome handle caps
  • chrome ORVM caps
  • pedal covers
  • chrome covering for window rubber beadings
  • key case
  • led valve caps
  • non led scuff plates
  • chrome beading on the side black plastic cladding

somebody already went to the extent of painting the whole dash and door pads, see the modified trend interiors.

Hope this helps.

Dear anilkumar,
  • H4 is for main headlight
  • H11 is for fog lights and any other model cannot be used for the ecosport IMO.

Dear dekay,
Color of Hella is same as the night breakers but brighter by around 20% to 30%,I have placed night breaker in the left headlight and hella in the right head lamps and tested both in all possible ways and angles so you can be rest assured.

  • Thank you shashank I am relieved, help me in sourcing Morimoto projectors.
  • Are they bi-xenons?
  • Are you sure we dont have to separate both parts of headlight to install them?
  • Can you share any pictures you have ?

Re: My Silver Ford EcoSport Titanium (O) TDCi. First delivered in India!

Wow the accessories list share above is huge. Till date though the Fortuner had the longest list but this beats all else till date. The beige & wood interiors do make the vehicle seem more spacious on the inside but for a modern / trendy design vehicle like the EcoSport the interior wood panels don't gel well with the overall look. Also the EcoSport already has enough chrome and does not need more around the headlamps etc. The DRL on Fogs look cool - Is the entire Fog lap with housing replaced for this.
The bottle holder pads too look cool and should be considered.

Yes, these are bi-xenons.

Here's a bhp-ian who's installed the same projectors, bulbs relay etc in his Vento, though the alignment looks a little off, the projectors have gone in without the need to cut the headlight or reflectors. I think a 2.5" projector should not need any mods on the Ecosport though I can say with absolute certainty only once I get these done in my Ecosport.

Also, these can be sourced from the US(pricey option, but they give you a 5 year warranty), via the link here:

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/pr...roducts_id=237

Or another site, aliexpress which ships to India from China:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Bi-xe...555774616.html

with the second option, its 5-6k less but somehow i'm not sure of the quality of it. Also, the link is only for the projectors, bulbs, relays, ballast, shrouds are extra.

Being the master you are in sourcing accessories, i'm sure you'll find a similar quality kit in China for 1/3rd the price of the US option

Re: My Silver Ford EcoSport Titanium (O) TDCi. First delivered in India!

One word of advice for all buyers, donot install side running board step on ecosport with 6 airbags as it will interfere with the normal functioning of side and curtain airbags.

I saw this printed on the carton of the OEM side running board step

I guess they do not then install the OEM side running board on Titanium (O) and AT variant. I had seen that this was not an option on the two variant and had wondered why.

But if the Dealer were to still go ahead and install it then it would contradict the meaning of the term OEM.

The Accessories snaps seem to all be from China - Do we have an India contact for them, else they will not be available here for some time atleast.

Re: My Silver Ford EcoSport Titanium (O) TDCi. First delivered in India!

There was an Ambient at AVK Ford, Mumbai with the same beige and wooden interior scheme. The SA told me that this was an optional extra. I didn't ask him the cost, since I didn't like it.

Anyone interested can contact them.

1.The pity is dealers are installing them for the tit(O) as they are thinking it is a print mistake on the accessory list.

2.I have given the india contact for aftermarket accessories in the reply to johannskaria.

Hey guys,

1.I just got a mail , these accessories are available in delhi.
2.Notice the additional plastic cladding all around, IMO it does not match the OEM plastic cladding of company.
3.Will update as soon as I get more information.
