Contacted them and the price is similar to the one offered by the workshop. In fact, I'll have to may more if I avail insurance through the Windshield Experts.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

The car has completed some 43,000 kms since August 2013.

During the last service there were a couple of issues that needed fixing.
The driver side window had gotten stuck. The service station replaced the arm inside, which lifts it up and down. Under warranty.

A rear seatbelt does not retract correctly. I am waiting for the spare part and once available it shall also be replaced under warranty.

Apart from this there are no issues with the car. It still runs pretty much like it did on the day I got it.

Got her cleaned up at 3M after my Goan vacation.

They did a remarkable job with the interiors. Although pricey at 2600 its totally worth it.

The seatbelt mechanism was replaced today.
Wrong part came in May. So a fresh order had to be placed.

The correct one arrived last week and I finally managed to go and get it done.

Took about 3 hours and it was fully covered by warranty.

The car has crossed 45,000 kms.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

With the total distance covered at 48,500 kms the OEM tires were giving up. There was a very high level of noise and they had many tiny cracks appearing all over.

So decided to get the tires replaced before a long trip planned early next week.

Got to a highly recommended tire outlet called Ashoka Wheels. (Tyre Dealer - Ashoka Wheels (Hyderabad))

Chose to take a slightly different tire size.
The original was 175/70/14. Bought the Michelin XM2's sized at 185/65/14.

This was a very important thing for me.

The car is seriously dirty thanks to the heavy rains we have had in the past week. Will have her washed up tomorrow.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

I drove down to Chennai from Hyderabad last Friday.

These tires are really good on the highway. I drove from 11 PM to 10 AM and the Osram nightbreakers were adequate.

Car will cross the 50,000 kilometer mark on my return trip.

50500 Kms

I have always gotten my car serviced ahead of schedule.

So I got what was technically the 60k service at the odometers 50k mark.
The car had developed some minor issues with the clutch.
A simple tune up has resolved it.

Oil change, new spark plugs and relevant filters got me a bill of almost 6,000.

No complaints from the car and she is sailing along just fine.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

A Rear Ending.

I was driving down towards the Nalan Nagar signal in Hyderabad when a bike guy stopped without warning. I stopped and then a couple of seconds later felt a push and a bang.

A quick check on my car showed me a small white line on the rear bumper and a little compression crease on it.
But the Honda City, which hit my car had the bumper clips give up and it was hanging loose.

Did not scream or shout because there was no point to it. The thin scratch is almost invisible and the Honda driver had more damage on his car.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

Had a small mishap with the car.

A weekend drive to Bangalore and I was still with 2 bars of fuel with the trip meter showing 580 kms. I was very tempted to see just how far the car can go when the second bar disappeared.
Google Maps was predicting a long traffic jam for the last 5 kms of my journey. Not wanting to be stuck without fuel decided to top up.
Spotted a bunk in the service lane. Turned right and while slowly crossing over heard a loud thud.
There was an open storm water.

The right front wheel was inside it. I was not able to get it out without help from the kind people who were nearby. Especially one young man on a bike who called everyone in Kannada and made them lift my car.

Anyways apart from this bump on my bumper no harm done. Not even a broken clip.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

Another 1100 kilometers added with a round trip to Kakinada over the Sankranti Weekend.

The odometer has crossed 55,000 and there is only one complaint that cropped up. Something has gotten stuck inside the ac vent and kept up a fluttering sound at low fan speeds. Apart from that mild nuisance there have been no other issues.

One minor regret with the car is that I did not anticipate the amount of running its doing. Crossing 55,000 in about 40 months of ownership is pretty much Diesel territory.

But with no other issues and the car being very reliable, the demon for an upgrade is not very strong.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

I had a lot of driving for today. Dropped some relatives at the airport. Picked up my wife at a shopping center and then went to another shop. Waited for twenty minutes with AC running in a street. Then she said, I can pick her up. Stopped in front of the shop, got down to open the door.
Switched off.

Now I switch on and the battery is fully dead.
Nothing gets any decent amount of power. Car is whimpering and even the horn sounds flat.

But in a stroke of luck, I find a mechanic shed really close.

BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.-img_20170311_152223.jpg
The shed was where the mini truck on the road is.

They quickly got my car started and I promptly drove down and got a new battery.
An Amaron for about 6000 from my usual store.

The old exide had lasted 3.5 years and 57000 kilometres.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

Got the car serviced as it has almost completed 61k KMS.
Nothing special to mention except that the Chevrolet service center is still functional.
The car performs well and to be honest I don't have any complaints with it.

Having owned a Chevy Spark in the past, I am always happy reading an update on Chevy cars here on TBHP.

Its good that the service center is still functional and they are handling services pretty fine but I hope you have some nice FNG identified already just in case the service center becomes non-operational.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

Good to see a thread on the U-Va, BBLost, and a well-written one. I have a U-Va too. Not a Sail but the old Aveo U-Va. It's just over 10 years old and I have done a little over 90,000 km.

Not exactly an exciting car but a very reliable one, apart from one or two minor things that keep cropping up.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

Got the car serviced. It got a little delayed as I was stuck in work and could not spare time.

Car is at 73000 KMS.
Apart from routine service, got new brake shoes.

No other issues found.
