re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: First 1,000 kms weekend trip done.

Congrats on the new car and thanks for the detailed and unbiased review. The chevy sail is quite a looker from the front. I've mistaken it for the cruze many a times on the roads and only realized when it passed by that its got half of it missing.

Seriously the funniest comment I have read on the Sail twins.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: First 1,000 kms weekend trip done.

Congratulations for your new car. The Sail is a decent car, the only thing that lets it down is its not so talked about brand. Still, they have decent ASS especially with their epic schemes. BTW did you manage to secure any ASS warranties?

I am a little worried about the large number of rattles that have developed in such a short span of time. The fact that these cars come in from China puts a big question mark over the quality. Still, the engine and ride quality is tremendous. I am sure it just flies over bumps. How much FE is it returning?
Kudos

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: First 1,000 kms weekend trip done.

IF the car soaks up bad roads at 44psi tyre pressure, wonder what it will do at 34...

the ride seems to be real good, maybe something to do with the suspension or the balance?

but the first run in mileage is real good..seems like Chevvy has a real competent car in their kitty!!

My car has exactly 1 rattle inside the cabin. It comes from beside the locking mechanism/ seat belt area.
There is a slight creeky noise when I press down on the left hand side front fender. Found this while waxing the car.

For all its made in China thing, the car is very solid. Not as solid as say the Germans but much better than the Japanese.

The first 250 odd kms have been at 12 kmpl.

Well, then it seems like a pretty promising car. Drive safe and have a wonderful time with this beauty. It really is a stunner. Did you consider the Nissan Micra?, I have heard a few horror stories, but the car is especially spacious and is a good ride and a good drive. Now, the upgraded one is even better.

Hearty Congrats BBlost and wish you and your family to have a great pleasure with this car.

And I've to tell, with this review you made me to rethink about this car especially with the speculations of diesel price hike on next month, I think the diesel cars are going to be highly impractical in terms of their maintenance.

Thanks.

I cycle 2 days a week.
Drive or ride the remaining 3 days.

This week I cycled to office on Monday. Will most probably cycle tomorrow if the weather is good. Had sudden showers in the evening.

Well one should have guts to do what others do not venture into. In your case of buying SAIL, you have used the combination of what your mind and heart told you. It is not the usual - i went with my heart or i went with my mind - thing.

Hoping to meet you soon in future in flesh and blood in our dear Hyderabad!

Congrats (although very late - took a while in reading all the posts) for your new buy bblost. I really love the color of your car.

On comparison, with my choice of buying a car, I feel bad about going for a diesel car when my commute to office per day is 20 kms both sides ( used to be 10 km when I bought the car in Jan'13). Secondly, the color, since buying a Maruti Ritz in Dec'12 was like - only this color is available sir, if you want you buy or forget it - attitude from the dealer. So went for silver color.

- Sai

P.S.Are you still hanging around opp. the Vengalrao park on sundays as I read on some other post?

Been ages since I did that. Having moved quite far from that location and my kids keeping me occupied. My interaction with the old buddies is more online than under that tree.

I somehow missed this thread! Side effects of never visiting TBHP home page!
Anyways, many many congratulations for SAIL!

Has ABS.
Excellent Ride Quality. It matters most when little ones are occupying rear bench.

Does boot easily fits in your bike (with front wheel disassembled)? Q5?

Congratulations!

From the pics posted in this page, I presume, you drove your Car a bit in the rains. How are the stock wipers? Handling isn't affected much in the rains?

Wishing you miles of happiness & would be glued to this thread.
