The jack is quite decent and the whole exercise took less than 10 minutes. However getting the spare wheel out of the boot was easier in my Wagon R. As I was removing the wheel a cab driver started to chit chat with me. He advised that I should have just left the screw inside. I think that is the wrong advice. What do you think?

Good you removed the screw. A similar thing happened on my Yeti a short while ago. When I went for my routine tyre balancing , rotation and wheel alignment the technician removed the screw and fixed the tyre puncture which became evident the moment the screw was removed.

That is what the puncture guy also said. He said that these kind of screws if not removed keep eating into the rubber and can cause a flat when you least expect it. Also fixing such punctures can be a bigger pain as the hole could become big.

Do post the pictures of before and after wax job.

Additionally IMO it would be safe to have the puncture guy remove the screws.

All the pics in http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post3217814
were after waxing the car.

I like to wax it myself. I use Carnuba Formula 1 wax.

Why?
I just used a screwdriver and turned it around till it came out.

OK so here is the update. I gave the car for the noise issue and they kept the car for couple of days. The techie who worked on the car confirmed that the front noise was caused by loose plate between clutch plate and clutch cable. The same sorted and I now no longer observe the noise from front on rough road surfaces. I drove to office today no noise. Life is good.

The PU seat covers is creating some noise while on a extremely rough roads. As per the techie that is inevitable

Fantastic.

Is this the plate you see in the first picture of this post: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post3330054

The noise in my cabin came back. :(
And then went away on it own.
It sounds like how a badly tuned radio unable to catch a signal would.

Nah not needed to remove the screw. It won't become bigger and all. It plugs the hole.

You could have driven to the tyre shop and changed it there. That's the whole idea of having a tubeless tyre, you can continue driving with a screw lodged in and won't get a sudden loss like a tube.

I usually don't bother checking for punctures unless I'm going for a highway drive. Then give a once over or go to tyre shop and get all inspected for punctures.

Yes, if screw is found you will have slow (to zero) air loss.

Drive slowly to nearest tire shop and patch it!

Hi BBLost,

Since I took the delivery in the night around 7:30PM, didn't bother to see anything. But the techie explained to me that the clutch wire was rubbing against the plate. This is also mentioned on the bill(zero value) that he gave me. I would try and see if I can ask him again and may be probably give a picture.

The sound that I was experiencing was very low. Can only be heard with music off and only on the bad patches. It was like metal rubbing against metal. Hope this helps.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

I had to give in my cycle for servicing.

With my wagonr it used to be so easy to load it in.

All I did was drop one seat and keep the cycle inside.

With the Sail UVA its not so easy.
I had to remove the child seats. Kept my daughters seat on the front seat. Had to take my Son's seat back home.

Then remove the parcel tray.
Drop both seats.
Lay an old bedsheet to protect the seat fabric.
Then lay down the cycle with its front tire removed.

I tried different combinations but this was the safest.

Ended up with my driving seat pushed in front. The 20 km ride to the cycle shop left me with a sore right knee.

But this is no more than a once in a year kinda thing.

So not really interested in getting a bike rack.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

I was waiting in the left most lane at an intersection. Suddenly I heard a bang and before I can comprehend what happened the perpetrator has dissappeared in traffic.

I see my orvm and its folded inwards with the mirror between the housing and the door.

Fearing the worst, I complete my left turn. Find a safe spot and get down from my car.
The mirror has simply popped out. Luckily it was trapped by the door and did not fall down and break.
I place it back and push it in. It snaps back into place. Not even a scratch on the car.
I thank my good fortune and my lovely car.

Driving thru a nasty long traffic jam, the jerky revs are back. :(

Will go back to service center on Monday.

re: BBLost's Chevrolet Sail UVA: 100k. Full Suspension Overhaul.

I went to the service center and despite my best attempts I was unable to replicate these crazy revs.

My service is due in March. But I would take her in during the first week of February.
The SA has been very supportive and I am very happy with his attitude.

The rattly noise however came on while we were driving. He said its a known issue and this would be fixed during service. The issue is due to some layer between the windscreen rubber and the dashboard.

He has also promised to remove and tighten all door panels.

I a very happy with the service centers proactive approach.

The car also got a new dvr. You can read about it here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/produ...ml#post3343576

Shoot a phone cam video and show it to them?

What if you removed both the child seats out of the car?

I have such a video and also the SA understands the issue. I asked him if he wants such a video and he just smiled and said its not necessary.

This is a much cleaner loading thanks to the bike shop guy. I removed my daughter's large child seat and kept it in the front seat. My son's smaller child seat can be seen on the rear seat.

This is to allow some room for maneuvering inside the cabin. To prevent staining or scratching the inside.
