Congrats on your car. Nice write up. Great looking car. Get paint sealant done at 3m. Since its a black car you would have to take more efforts to maintain it. Check the Cleaning, Polishing and Detailing thread for help. Eagerly waiting for more details of that engine. But as of now do the running in properly don't too hard and take care of the turbo(idling rules for the lubrication).

Wish you million happy miles ahead

Congratulations. The Polo looks fab in Black. A neat pair of aftermarket alloys would make it look even better - but that's for later.

Enjoy your adrenaline packed power ride and drive safe!

Congratulations buddy on getting a very desirable set of wheels.

Read through your entire report in one go and your passion and excitement for this car is clearly visible. Wish you a wonderful time with it.

I also appreciate your not wanting to jazz up the car with any racerboy stickers and keeping the stock look clean. That's the way this car looks best.

Cheers,
trek

Congratulation on your new ride, and thanks for the great review.
I have two questions
1) Have you got the extended warranty?
2) In Bangalore VW does not have Polo GT TDi test drive, instead they offered me a test drive in Vento TDi. I felt the clutch to be very hard(may be because it is a test drive vehicle). How is the Polo clutch?

Gannu , that GT-TDI is a kick-ass ride.

One of the most elaborated and informative reviews you can see here.

Congrats Buddy.

re: The VW Polo GT TDI - Update @ 3500 kms & new head-unit

Congrats on your acquisition Gannu! Must say the ownership log is very very comprehensive.

Having driven a car with this engine for the last 3 years trust me you will enjoy it even after having owned it it for a long time. I imagine you would have more fun due to the Polo being lighter than the Vento!

Black looks simply awesome (though red if my favorite on the polo) and like many others have advised get a nice shine job done on the exterior.

I love the black interiors given how quickly the beige interiors get soiled.

Once again congrats and enjoy the beast!

Congratulations on the car. Looks like it is a beast going by your review. May you munch many miles with it.

And a great review covering all the details. If anyone needs to know anything about the GT TDI, your thread should suffice.

Thanks, I had checked with VW Whitefield, where they do not have Polo GT TDi.

Wow. Extremely detailed review! You've covered everything very well, right from interiors to exteriors. Does this car have a GTI on the grille? I mean I have seen 2-3 red polos in Pune with GTI insigna on the grill and TDI badging on the rear(?). The grill on the cars was also hexagonal patterned. Is it the same as this car?

Congrats on your new car and enjoy the driving experience!

Both Polo(GT TSi and GT TDi) just have the GT on the grill, and they do not have hexagonal pattern.

In US and in Europe, you get Polo GTI's which comes with the GTI badge and the hexagonal grill.

I guess you would have seen something like http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...medium_3-1.jpg which is just modified grill.

Robimahanta also has modified his Polo GT TSi (to include the GTI badge), and you could see the details in http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...-tsi-5.html#74
