The brand of wipers that Parag is using on the Ertiga are bought from Auto Trends website (Link attached). I too use the same wipers on my Swift after his recommendation.

Size for the Swift:

L = 19"
R = 21"

Size for the Ertiga:

L = 14"
R = 21"

re: Tallboy welcomes longer companion: Maruti Ertiga VDi - 196,000 Kms up & a lot of DIYs!

I used to use Bosch wipers similar to these in my Opel Corsa Sail. For Eritga I have so far not changed the wipers but I must say this looks very interesting. Thanks for posting this.

Cheers

The wipers are nice, look good and work well too.

Rs 299 is the price which IMO is VFM for these wipers.

Go on, go on...post some full profile pics and show us how new your Ertiga looks

With 35K in a year, I guess the running is on par with your WagonR. After 7 years, another 2 lakh kms update?

You missed another competitor Parag has. The great and famous Bangalore Cabbie!

Hence the race to win between him and his Cabbie friends.

Looking at the travel Parag is upto, 2 lakh kms will be achieved faster!

Thank you GTO. I had in mind that I will do justice if I posted latest pics but then, I need to give it a mild wash, thanks to my recent trips. Hopefully, I should post latest pictures on how the Ertiga is ageing gracefully as an infant over this weekend .

On the 2 Lakh kms with the Ertiga, I'm certainly sure I will drive this as much as the car has to serve me as I have seldom believed in knocking off a car from my parking looking at the number or years or the kilometers on the ODO.

That said, I too will take care of the cars I own so that I get my returns for all the investment.

Funny it would be but there are friends who calculated that at Rs 4 Per Kilometer, I have spent 8,80,000 on Fuel and Maintenance for a 4L Rupees Waggy!! How I wish they could understand the difference between Owning a car and driving one.

The Bangalore cabbie might see me as a competitor only when he realises that all my Bulbs are functional, The exhaust doesn't emit black smoke, there's no music in my Horn, all my mirrors are in order.

May be I must drive to the city of Nizam to see how different are Hyderabad cabbies .

and oh, before I forget, I Live to Drive while a cabbie Drives to Live.

Congratulations Parag! How does it feel to have a new looking, yet not-that-new car eh?

Haha, its his daily commute + travel itch + visiting family (in belur?) that makes 35k a breeze!

on a side note, one of my biggest pains is that my VDi did 33k in the first year and has never clocked as many miles thereafter :( (around 8k last year!)

This is exactly how the New Ertiga looks after 35500 kms exactly today (with a Bird drop next to the fog light):

Actually, my daily commute is 68 Kms if I go to my workplace. Else I end up working from Home many days in a week too!

So, in reality (and just like the WagonR), this hasn't been a car that is taking me from Point A to Point B.
  • It took me on a 4000 kms drive to Gujarat within 2 months since I bought
  • Still wondering how many times I drove to Belur
  • Just 3 trips to Pune, all in the last 40 days
  • Goa Twice, Pondicherry and Kumbakonam once, Coorg, Chikmagalur & Chennai too

And then, In Aug-Sept, I was out of country for a family Holiday (yes, not by road!) & a 10 day long secret drive up north in a Linea.

So it is doing the duty of an able, reliable & more comfortable car to ferry my family to various destinations.

Daily office commute is boring even though I do take the toll road every day. After all, a car has to see roads of every type .

Good to see the Ertiga munching miles. Every time I check my Fb wall, I get to see at least one update of Parag either taunting the Bangalore cabbies or a status update of a trip to Pune.

Drive safe brother!

Even after 35000+ kms your car looks stunning. The tyres are as good as new. Not much of wear and tear.

Thanks Jose. Tires are not as old as the car. In fact, they are half as much. I replaced the stock Good Year 185/65 to XM2 205/60 when the ODO was 16,000 kms.

Of course, every time I wash the car, I recall to purchase a good tire polish!!
