A manual bill is submitted plus a job card is opened which gets entered in their system.

If there is no job cars made, the spares, fluids etc that were used won't be authorized and the mechanics will be made to pay when they have to replenish the stocks in that van. After that job card is entered, the spares department hands over the same to the technicians who will replenish the stocks.

Not sure how this happened but I suspect the mechanics that had visited home for the 60K service wouldn't have tightened the bolts properly leading to this.

As seen in both the pictures, the battery acid/distilled water that was topped up is leaking. Not sure how is it that so much has come out and there is still good enough left in the battery?!

Isn't there any overflow/drain pipe for these batteries?

Intermediate Solution:

1) Tied the plastic cover using a cable-tie;

2) Go the engine bay washed especially the battery area after removing the battery. Didn't go for pressure wash though.

It could be wind forcing open even if there was a small gap. The same happened in my Ertiga and within few kilometers, the tar ate 10% of that plastic protective sheet.

I used a cable for then as it was too noisy due to the wind hitting exactly there and the locks were giving up one by one. Stopped by a 2 wheeler spare parts shop and bought the push clips that is used for Scooty mat. That solved it. I then got service center to replace it with the bigger clip.

Most probably over-enthusiastic filling of battery to charge you for 'distilled water bottle'.
Just check for your battery, if it has swollen or likes. Also, check the battery tray and if there is any accumulation in the tray, remove it(using a plunger) and then clean it with ample of water and soap.

Make sure to give the engine bay a soap wash (soap neutralizes acid), else you may see paint eating/corrosion later on.

Here is the Service @ Home work updated in the service records. I checked the Maruti App yesterday and found the data entry in it:

@A4Anurag

Good choice to go with the 195. I downgraded from 195 Yoko to 185 XM2 and I was not happy with the grip around the corners. In hindsight should have stuck to 195 section.

Interesting to see MSIL now using Petronas MGDO as the oil. Guess they have moved to semi synth these days after the complaints over the higher cost of synthetics.

Re: The story of a Blue Streak a.k.a Maruti Suzuki Swift ZDi (Torque Blue) - Michelin XM2 tyres are

During some routine service I had lost the IRVM bracket cover. Didn't bother much as the SA informed that the part isn't sold separately and needs to be bought together with the whole IRVM. I was like

Today was at the MGP dealer to enquire for the WagonR's VXi IRVM (Day/Night) so browsed through the parts catalogue and asked them if I can buy this?! The sales guy goes in and get the part. I was Paid the amount and walked out!

Part Name: Cover, Inside Mirror
Part Number: 84781 M 75J00 - 6GS
Cost: ₹7.50

Name & Part number

Now the IRVM looks complete and in unison with the interiors.

Having dealt with such misinformed or in most other cases lazy and oversmart SAs, I don't even bother to ask them for these small spares. I straightaway go to MGP store, ask for parts manual, and give them the part number I require.

If there is a part installed in your car at factory level, no matter how small or insignificant it may appear, it has to have a part number and I can't comment about other manufacturers, but Maruti has each and every spare listed in their parts manual-no matter how small it is.

How about owning a parts manual-They are really cheap and immensely useful.

Has the D/N mirror arrived??

Regards,
Shashi

Never knew the Swift was so preferred and comfortable for others too:

Just look who uses the car hood as the sleeping bed, especially at nights after I return from work, thanks to the engine heat that gives them the covering in cold nights.

There is a downside too of this love shown by animals as they aren't car loving freak where scratches etc to bother them.

No matter how cute they appear, these animals are most deadly, specially for the paint. Due to the slippery nature of the metal, they use their claws for grip, and end up unintentionally scratching your paint job.

I could notice a few minor scratches on the hood too. Looking at the depth, it seems they'll easily go way after a rubbing/waxing session.

Quoting my post as seen a few posts above on the fender cover that was dangling below.

The cover gave way today morning finally. God's grace, I was doing 10 kmph at that time. Stopped in time and remove it from ruining anything underneath.

Have bought the plastic clips from MGP and will be fixing the same by tomorrow morning.

Someone flicked the 'ZDi' logo from my car a few days back so got one from MGP for 66/-. They didn't have 'ZDi' in stock so asked if 'ZDi+' is available. It was so bought it and cut the '+'.
