If you don't need that space & a bit more GC and an AWD, the S-Cross should be it, but only in 1.6.

Mahindra is not as refined as a Suzuki, plus some quirks and niggles might be there. I know, for you, the parts-sharing might be a put-off, but they would be more hard wearing than what you would find in a Mahindra.

If you are not waiting for a new launch, it makes [financial] sense to let the Swift go.

All depends on how fast dad is convinced for the S-Cross 1.6L Alpha.

I hate the Facelift version of the S-Cross over the current one so if it is S-Cross then it'll have to bought before the facelift is launched.

Diy Install – Check Valve In Windshield Washer Pipe

D.I.Y Install – Check Valve in the Windshield Washer Pipe

Q: What is a Check Valve?

Ans: A check valve or non-return valve or one-way valve is a valve that normally allows fluid to flow through it in only one direction (prevents backward flow).

Q: Where do I need it in my car?

Ans: I have installed this in the pipe of the windshield washing system. At the lowest part of the pipe carrying water to the nozzles almost near the washer tank/pump

Q: Why did I need to install this?

Ans: To negate the delay in water spray when the washer stalk is pulled. This prevents the wipers from sweeping the windshield dry that could scratch the glass too. Life of the blades too could increase as the cleaning efficiency is increased with water spraying at the same time the sweep starts.

Q: How did I install the Check valve?

Ans: Install is simple. Cut a small portion of the pipe and connect the two ends of the valve with the pipe.

PROCEDURE

Step – 1: Park the car on firm ground and engage the handbrake.

Step – 2: Open the hood and start to remove the bumper. Here's the link to open the bumper: Front Bumper removal explained

Step – 3: Once the bumper is removed, the washer tank will be found near the right side of the car. It is just ahead of the right side wheel. The tank has two pipes coming upwards where one sends water to the front windshield nozzles and the other pipe sends water to the rear windshield nozzle.

Step – 4: Cut a small part of the pipe and install this check valve in line keeping the direction of the flow in mind.*

Step – 5: Connect both the ends of the valve to the pipe. Check if all is fine by running water through on both the front and rear windshield. Check for any leaks!

Step – 6: Once the sure of no leakages and all is functioning well, secure it using nylon zip ties.

Step – 7: Re-install the front bumper.

*
The check valve must be installed rightly as it allows flow only in one direction and if installed the wrong way it can damage the motor too. Every check valve has the direction of flow on the casing. Please keep this in mind.

Wow that's quite a milestone

Kudos to the care you've been taking in maintaining the car in such a beautiful condition. I recently saw your car when we met, it still looks like it was bought just a couple of months ago.

And that fuel efficiency deserves a special mention. You've been constantly getting more than 20kmpl all through this 1,00,000km. Glad to see you having a very peaceful and a wonderful ownership experience with that car.

Now that it has reached the big mark, I guess it is time to change this car and get yourself a new one?

The Mahindra's cheetah (XUV) is waiting for us with good discounts running now. Let's book it together. What say?

My horn was acting up off late and would function normally when the car goes over any pothole or medium undulation on the road. Sometimes it would be one horn or sometimes none. So opened the bumper to check which of the two are gone or it is wiring issue. After close check, got hold of the culprit i.e. High tone horn

So decided to try something aftermarket but sadly I liked none of the sounds, they were too loud for my tastes so went to MGP outlet and got the pair.

In the past two weeks, I would have opened the bumper 8-9 times just for the horns. Sadly to say I got the wrong ones, it were Dzire's that were not fitting in my Swift as the clamp that holds the horn was different in length and coming in contact with the upper grille. So went to my MGP again and asked them to check.

Wrong horns for 2013 model Swift

Brilliant compilation of events Anurag and I am just speechless as to how you remember all this so distinctly bro

Just the other day I wanted to post about how good you had maintained your 'Blue Streak' but somehow skipped my To Do List !!

Very inspirational to look at such ownerships here and it only urges me to be more and more Car-o-holic.

Net Bill amount - INR 6641/-
Man the last I remember seeing such a "Puny" bill amount was during the Getz servicing, over 3yrs back.

Whether its 1,00,000 or 1000 kms, we VAG owners can possibly never dream of such bill amounts

Good choice that ways, no blue this time
Btw what lead you towards the Alpha, zeta is good vafm and i drove the delta and found not much missing
This being the year end, I urge you to haggle hard starting january, some really cool deals going
How much would you expect for your swift, I expect it to not see as high a resale due to low demand and introduction of the Baleno

Will get the car evaluated by True Value guys. Let's see what it comes out to.

Currently there is 45-50K exchange bonus going for S-Cross. Have informed dad let's see what he concludes.

No sir.

DDiS200 - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha
DDiS320 - Alpha only.

Initially both engines were available from Delta but End 2015, IIRC, Maruti stopped Delta and Zeta on the DDiS320 variant.

My running is 110 kms a day.
