re: The story of a Blue Streak a.k.a Maruti Swift ZDi (Torque Blue). 1,20,000 km up & now sold

You should get a good deal on that one though, end of year and demonetization effect
Just read the maintenance costs in autocar india, you'll get a bill twice that for your swift certainly with that sort of running

Ya. I know!

But the overall ownership would be peaceful over the other car that I initially chosen to replace the Swift!

S-Cross it is? Haha! Glad to know that buddy. Great choice. Remember how much I had tried convincing you for the same over the XUV? :P

Congrats on the 100k milestone.

I remember!

Can't understand why M&M can't iron out issues in the XUV 5OO even after it being on sales from 2011! Beats me!

My running is 110 kms a day.
Well, the nexa website lists all 3, delta zeta and alpha still, albeit the delta at a mouth watering price of about 2 lakhs less than the alpha with almost all the essentials ticked except for may be alloy wheels
There's also a limited edition on offer
Do look into the other models of 1.6 as there isn't much by way of safety differentiation, although i found it to be just above elite i20 in terms of outright pick up in lower gears and with much more lag than your swift
P.S had a long 17km td of the S cross 1.6

Website/price list isn't updated my dear.

Check the S-Cross brochure. It has only Alpha for 1.6.

Congrats anurag on a splendid ownership and happy b'day to your Blue Streak

Maruti are not 'The Best' when it comes to fit/finish, paint quality and ageing. Many of my friends Swifts have faded considerably over a short time.

But with folks like you, who know how to maintain their steads, it really does not matter which make.

Quite honestly, I can't make out much of difference between those 2 pics (sans those yellow ribbons), in all those 3yrs time gap buddy

Wish you many more mile munching and drive safe.

re: The story of a Blue Streak a.k.a Maruti Swift ZDi (Torque Blue). 1,20,000 km up & now sold

A week back at work, while walking towards the car with my keys in hand, it slipped breaking the outer cover making it useless to lock/unlock the car. This was the third fall since date of purchase. With every fall the plastic part that holds the battery in-place was cracking. This fall was the last in the straw!

Somehow holding the battery and terminals together I could open the car and reach home. Swapped the broken key for the spare key till I could get a solution which was replace the key shell either from MGP or aftermarket.

After searching on eBay and PayTm, went ahead and got the key shell (1 number) from PayTm for ₹319 after cashback. Replacement for straightforward though.

Old key - broken

Remember to transfer the transponder chip from the old key to the new one else the car will NOT start

Old vs New Key

Screwdriver set (Needs +1.7 for the screw)

Need to get the blade cut to the right shape so that I can start using it.

Belated congratulations for the 1L km & congratulations in advance for the 1.6 S cross!
Does the new key shell comes with the rubber button for LOCK/UNLOCK?

No buddy. It doesn't come with the LOCK/UNLOCK buttons. It is only the key shell.

Rest all needs to be carried over from the older/broken/damaged key that one is looking to repair/replace.

Hey Anurag, any updates on the headlights? The current 100/90 setup is working fine for you?

Is there any chance of reflectors burning out/turning greyish black due to excessive heat of high power bulbs?

Absolutely fine. No issues at all.

None whatsoever. Reflectors are in good health with no damage or blackening.

I am loving every kilometer of night since with these headlights. Very happy.

I recommend this setup to all who want an upgrade at a cheaper cost compared to projectors.

Hi Anurag!
Would you recommend any specific OBD2 reader/scanner tool for Swift Diesel?! (You've been using one for your Swift if I remember correctly!).We have a Swift Diesel in our family and are planning to procure an OBD2 reader (one of our relatives is returning from the US & we are thinking about asking them to bring it along if better options are available there!)
