MINOR UPDATE BUT SAD ONE

Damage gifted by indica cab driver 2 days back.

Replaced the ORVM glass with the OEM one that I had kept aside when I had replaced with the Anti glare ones.

Only glass damaged

Damaged anti glare (Top) and OEM mirror (Below)

In a way happy that the damage was restricted 'ONLY' to the glass and not the whole unit else it would have been a very costly repair to get the car back in shape.

Way to go Anurag!!
Was checking the forum after a long break, and I see your milestones getting surpassed at brisk pace.
Its 1.1L now, how are your Michelins doing - I guess already 50K?

Holding up brilliantly. Still has good thread for another 30K kms as per my regular tyre expert. It's been 40K kms since I have put on Michelin. Very happy with the purchase.

1,11,111 kms done

Car is doing well albeit a few issues cropping up.

Battery is dying, lower arms needs to be changed. Plus planning to get the Timing chain +components curbed at 1.1L service.

EDIT:

I am expecting a total cost of expenditure near 20K

Nice to see you cross the lac mark trouble free. Will you be retaining the Swift for long ? I had to change lower arms twice in 50k on my Civic due to bad after market parts. Are the lower arms clunking while driving.

Thank you buddy

Car is peaceful and very reliable. All parts have stayed well for 1.1L kms which IMO is great.

Regarding the car staying or selling is a question that I have no answer for actually.

No clear intention from dad so far regarding selling the car and getting a replacement (S-Cross 1.6L Alpha).

I can't be normal psychologically to drive around with parts that 'need' attention. So irrespective of the sale or no, I'll be changing the crucial ones like (Battery, Timing chain and lower arms).

Multimeter Data :

After using the car for 110 kms (Out of which 63 kms is at Highway speeds) and letting it rest for 12 hours, here's the details from the multimeter.

Idle Voltage after 12 hours rest : 12.40V
Cranking Voltage : 9.66V
Voltage while Engine idling : 14.20V

Getting an Amaron Flo 65Ah as a replacement for the dying Exide. Expecting the New battery to be priced at 5K post exchange with old battery.

Here's how she looks as on yesterday morning

Thanks for giving me the rough ball park figure to bargain for the best deal on the Amaron 65Ah.

How is performing since then, if I can ask?!

It is working absolutely fine. No issues. I guess this is the best one from the available options.

Things done:
  1. Engine oil (Provided by me)
  2. Oil Filter
  3. Air Filter
  4. Cabin Air Filter
  5. Brake check
  6. Fluids top-up

Since this is 1,10,000 kms service, the fuel filter is not changed as per Maruti's maintenance schedule so it was skipped. I forced them to change it as I am paying anyway for it but they didn't agree.

Engine oil used (Mobil Super 1000 - 15W40)

Yes it should have been 5W40, I chose 15W40 (mineral oil) as I am getting some engine related works by month or first week of May. Didn't want to use the same oil post replacement. Hence chose 15W40 that will be in the car for 5K kms compared to the 5W40 that I keep till 10K kms.
