Hi There,

I have a 1.2 NV and constantly get between 11-12 kpl 100% a/c in pune city. Last week had been to Mumbai and back and she returned 17.5 kpl with 100% a/c and 4 adults ( 80-90 kph).

This is as good as any other car in this range. Expect a little lower for the 1.6 .

Low mileage is a myth and sadly Fiat is not doing anything to counter this.

Cheers

I will be driving very less - approx - 15Kms a day n about 30-40 kms on weekends n long drives over 200 kms once a month.

Interested in buyin a Palio, but Low FE is stoping me from...also Palio sport 1.6 will crunch my pocket. In cochin its 4.75 L + regn +taxes will mount to 5.2 L :(
hence thinking of Wagon R LPG which will be good on FE and comes for 4.06L.

But I still luv the Palio.

suggestions are most welcome.

Hi Icemanz, with Palio 1.6, you can expect a mileage of 9 - 12 kmpl in City and 14 - 18 kmpl on Highways. A lot depends on the driving style. Go get this 1.6 Beast, you will never regret it!.

Hi

Can anybody post the picture of the engine bay of a Palio 1.2 NV. I'd like to check if there is any difference between 2001-2002 models and NV models. One of my friend told me that the petrol and AC tube routing is different in pre 2002 and NV models.

Hi Finney,

Very good Desciprtion..
i very well understand what all you say , because even i own a Palio...

you are right..

1.6 is perfomance oriented.
more over i drive S10..

it has got slight different gear ratio when compared to others...

It s meant for perfomance not Milege.

Take Care Finney

Drive Safely

Nice review Finney! Drop in a K&N and see the 1.2 fly! With a light foot, you're even likely to improve the mileage. In the city, I'm getting 10kmpl with 205 section tyres, 100% A/C, a K&N and a medium to heavy foot on the pedal. Palio 1.2, BTW.

30,000 Kms completed!

My Palio has just crossed the milesone of 30,000 kms & 5 years.

It is going strong as ever!

The maintenance just involves routine service every 7000 kms.
The last service at 27,000 Kms costed me around Rs.3000 (includes Engine oil change- Castrol Magnatec, Oil filter, brakes cleaning, regular Servicing charge of Rs.750)

Mileage has definitly improved, in City I get around 13 - 14 kmpl and in Highways 18 kmpl.

Last year, I changed my wheels to Aura 14" Alloys and Michelin XM1+ tubeless tyres (more here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-a...ess-tires.html)
I am enjoying the comfort, better handling & braking offered by XM1+ and alloys.

Overall, I am enjoying the ride & a very happy Fiat owner

That's nice - but honestly, you need to enjoy the Palio a lot more than that

Congratulations, but please do drive a bit more. This is sheer injustice to the car and you will probably end up with a vintage in your hands by the time you do 1.5 lakh km!

30,000 km and 5 years with only routine service visits is very encouraging! With a 7500 km service interval This also means you are changing your engine oil less than once a year, right? How about other fluids?

I have done 20,000 km and quite happy so far. But the build quality is not the same, maybe 20% worse.

(OT: @phamilyman: why do we NCR people consider 15,000 km a year as "normal running?" and anything below as "hardly used"?)

Congrats Finney!

Have you thought of changing your oil to Mobil 1? With Michelin, Mobil 1 and Aura alloys, you couldn't ask for more!
