Can you let me know from where you ordered those?

Thanks,

I will surely express my views on them. I have ordered 3 sets of brake Pads,1 for my Innova and 2 for my friend's Fortuners.
I got them from YOLO performance the same guys from whom Prithwi_81 has brought his brake pads. Here is the link Brembo brake pads

Installed the Brake Pads today. Initial impression is that the bite is much better.

1,30,000km service update:
Gave the car today for 1,30,000km service. The following work was carried out:
.)Synthetic oil change
.)Brake pad changed to Brembo's which I bought recently.
.)Alternator bearing change, could hear a hiss sound while at high rpm's.
.)Brake shoe replacement, driver was complaining of less braking.
Total bill:18,470/-

The car feels a bit smoother, the synthetic oil will start performing a bit afterwards.
Brake pads need running in to tell the difference. Will get to test them on my long trip next week.

Also bought Diesel injector cleaner made by Toyota for 1600. Will try it on my oncoming trip.

re: Toyota Innova Experience. EDIT: 10 years, 2,56,000 km up and SOLD!

Thought of updating the thread since alot of things have happened since the last time I posted.
As mentioned we did a Mum-Kerela-Mum trip. Everything went fine except we rear ended a car on Nice Road Bangalore while going. The loss to the car was minimum however my car took a beating due to the guard getting crumpled and hitting the front grill and the bonnet. The A/C pipe got saved by a few mm. The car was in working condition so we decided to carry on.
A few Pics from the trip:

After coming back my car's wiper mechanism gave way due to rust. Got it installed immediately. Kudos to Toyota for keeping stock of such uncommon things too! The mechanism costed arounded 3000 including labour and was done in 2 hours time.

Rest everything seems fine. The car is at 1,39,600km at present. We have now removed the front guard.

Also about the shifts feeling hard,I found out the real culprit. It was happening due to 2 flooring mats I have. They were interfering with the clutches movement. After I rearranged the mat the shifts became butter smooth again. This clutch has lasted the longest at 80,000km and I guess will last atleast another 20,000km.

Had thought of selling the car off but decided against it. I was getting around 7.5lakhs for it but what car can replace it was the question! The Fortuner is definitely the next car but it can't replace an Innova.

So the orignal clutch lasted only 60K kms? My Innova is now close to completing 73k without a clutch change. I'll be disapoointed if I am forced to change it before 1.2lac kms. That is the benchmark for me, since for my last car - safari- the orignal clutch was changed at 1.12lac kms.

Actually I'm on my third set(1st-30k,2nd-30k). But that's due to a bad driver. All my friend's Innova's(atleast 4 of them) have lasted at least 1.2-1.5lakh kilometer so don't worry!

re: Toyota Innova Experience. EDIT: 10 years, 2,56,000 km up and SOLD!

1,50,000km Service Update
The odo stands at 1,44,300km as of today. Decided to give the car for service on 5th December. I wanted to get the timimg belt changed this time itself since I am never on time for the service, always 2-3000 km late. Therefore the service advisor suggested to get the 1,50,000 km service done instead of 1,40,000 km as the car had already crossed 1,44,000 km.
Work carried out:
Synthetic oil change
Air filter change
A/C cabin air filter change
diesel filter change
oil filter change
(not sure of the above 2)
Timing belt change
Brake cleaning and bleeding
Total cost: 15,825

Was expecting a few broken suspension parts but everything seems to be fine.
There is a creeking noise coming from the front part which I wasn't able to replicate in front of the service advisor(of course!) still got all seat bolts tightened. Needless to say the minute I was entering my lane the sound started again. Have decided to live with it for a few days till 1,50,000 when the T-Belt light will lit up on the instrument cluster.
This light comes on at 1,50,000km irrespective of the belt being changed. Also got the alternator readings and battery voltage checked, everything is normal.

That's all for now. The car just keeps running without any issues after this point any thing which is not broken is like an added bonus to me!

Thank you dean5545 for sharing the 150K service details. Would you mind sharing the actual invoice or least the break-up of the part and labor charges? Want to know how much a timing belt replacement and other parts cost.

It is very nice to hear that there are no issues with the suspension even after so much running. I think Innova suspension is one of the best in the MUV category, very robust and gives a smooth ride.

These must be the Fuel Filter and Engine Oil Filter.

Engine Oil Filter is changed at regular 10k intervals alongwith Engine Oil, Oil pan drain etc which you must be accustomed to.

Fuel Filter is supposed to be replaced at 80k first and then as per intervals and/or situation. Was it changed earlier in records? If not, then this is very long period for the Fuel Filter change at 150k.

Also, it would be interesting to see comparative pics of old Timing Belt and Newer fitted, if you have them.

Fuel filter was changed earlier too. Will have to look at the bill to confirm if it was changed this time too.

The timing belt has no visible scars whatsoever I replaced it just for precautionary measure I have the old timing belt with me but not the new one. I will upload a pic of the old one.

How much has your Innova done with all the Leh Ladakh trips ?

The timing belt cost around 2400. Labour extra I will find the bill and upload for the benefit of all Innova owners.

Not to give you a wrong picture I have changed all the shocks whenever they got bust one time. When I said that the suspension held fine I was talking about the 12,000 km it did in 4 months including a 3250 km roadtrip to Kerela. In the return leg the car was filled with luggage to the brim and my friend jumped around 6-8 speed brakers without braking as he didn't spot them in time!

She is munching very slowly hovering at 90Ks now mostly due to highway family trips and tours with limited city runs.

Not to worry too much. They are pretty sturdy and have had extensive experience of such things in various locations including Ladakh, the body parts can give away but never the chassis parts and especially suspension setup.

Re: Toyota Innova Experience - 5 years and 150,000 kms

The car completed 5 years today!
Current odo reading is 1,54,xxx km. This year the car ran about 38,000km. There were some issues but nothing related to the car. It is running smoothly as expected. Got the 1,50,000 service done at 1,44,000km itself as we had a trip to Ahmedabad planned.

All in all I still love this car a lot it has stood by us in all conditions. It is our beater car as well as the car in which we attend functions. It is used for our daily use as well as our occasional highway trips.

Kudos to Toyota for making such a workhorse! My next car is surely gonna be a Toyota. And special thanks to the entire team at Millenium Toyota Mira Road for helping me maintain my vehicle. The technicians have worked during lunch time at times just so that I can get back my vehicle on the same day. Never ever in my life do I remember keeping the car for more the 10 hours. I have got dampers, ball joints (will come to this), clutch plates and what not sometimes in addition to normal servicing itself!

re: Toyota Innova Experience. EDIT: 10 years, 2,56,000 km up and SOLD!

1,60,000 km Service Update
My Innova crossed the 1,60,000 km mark a month back. But due to workload on the car could not get it serviced for a long time. Got it serviced last week at 1,66,000 km. The service interval this time was very long, ~22,000 km since it was last serviced at 1,44,000 km.
Had some other work to be done too. Took the car in the morning to Millennium Toyota, Mira Raod. My service advisor checked all the things to be done. After inspection they found out that the upper arm ball joint on which the upright assembly is fitted had developed play, also the front left shock absorber was having a major leakage. Gave them the permission to replace both. Also got the rubber door beadings changed as they had hardened quite a bit. Total cost for the entire beading change was about Rs.6000. The 1,60,000 km service is a major one it includes change of the following:
1.Engine Oil (synthetic)
2.Differential Oil
3.Transmission Oil
4.Radiator Cleaning and filling in new coolant(done first time if I remember correctly)
5.A/C filter cleaning

Got all the above done too.
Total Bill at the service centre Rs.28,566/-
The bill

Toyota Innova Experience. EDIT: 10 years, 2,56,000 km up and SOLD!-062-small.jpg

Got the car back same day evening. Gotta give it to Toyota for stocking all the necessary parts.
TYRE CHANGE
The current tyres were worn out since it did around 55,000 km in one year and six months. So changed 4 tyres to another set of Michelin XM2. Only 4 because the stepney was used for only 5,000km.
Got 4 tyres for Rs.25,200(including wheel alignment, which is pending still)
Would highly recommend these tyres, they took me to all sorts of places. The wet grip is far more superior to the stock Goodyear as well as Bridgestones. This is my 4th set of tyres. 55,000km and only 4 punctures.
Did all the above things last Friday itself. The car is butter smooth now. My clutch is still good for another 10-15,000km. Current odo reading is 1,67,300 km. My front lower A-arm bushes have gone bust now, will need to replace them, since they make a lot of noise! Toyota doesn't sell just the bush I need to buy the entire A-arm, which cost Rs.9,000 a piece. Any suggestions are welcome. Currently making do by oiling the bush every alternate day. But will have to go for a permanent solution soon.
On the mileage front:
The car is giving me a mileage of 13-13.5 kmpl on my daily run on the NH-8. The increase in 1kmpl is due to the new driver who doesn't push the car that much.
Got a mileage of 14kmpl on my recent trip to Ganpatipule. This was because I was not pushing the car due to worn out tyres.
Some pics from Ganpatipule

Completely agree with you there mate! My dad bought his second Innova earlier this year- we had one from 2008 to Jan 2015 as well which clocked 2,90,000 km's. The engine was still in great condition; we decided to change because the interiors had gotten worn out and we got a decent price. The car always went to MGF Toyota Gurgaon for service and they really did take good care - Kudos to Toyota for their after sales experience!!

re: Toyota Innova Experience. EDIT: 10 years, 2,56,000 km up and SOLD!

Good to see another Innova admirer. As of today I own a POLO, a WagonR and an Ecosport, In previous years when I had heavy usage I have gone through two Innovas, the first 2005 model did 190000km before being sold off in 2009, the purchaser was our driver who re registered as a taxi and had done 450000km before selling off. The second bought in 2008 did 160000 km before being sold off in 2012.

The first car came with good year tyres which were changed at 70000km, brake pads followed at the next service 80,000km. The second set of Bridgestones lasted another 80000 km, they were changed during the 150,000 km service when I changed timing belt, brake pads rear brake shoes (not worn but hardened) shock absorber bushes (never new only bushes can be changed in this era), clutch plate & pressure plate seat covers and got a few minor scratches touched up. Tyres would have lasted another 10-15 K. Km, but I did not want to push them as it was end of summer, and we were expectfewing a few long trips in the rains.

The second car came with bridge stones as stock, and lasted really long a full 90,000 km. Just a month after the tyre change we met with an accident when a agricultural tractor suddenly took a U turn in front of me, my driver had braked from about 80 down to about 50 at the time of impact. The crumple zone worked as designed, and all of us inside were un hurt. All work was done at DSK toyota, and bill came to about 1.5 Lakh, of which I had to shell out about 30,000, and rest was covered by insurance. I made payment while collecting the car and was re embersed by New India Assurance in about 10 days.
Just before the 1,10,000km service I spotted a few white spots in the bonnet, and saw that coolant level was dropping by about 300 ml after a drive of 500km. The were culprit was the waterpump, which may have taken a slight impact inthe accident.
Just before the 120,000 km service I noticed clutch slip, and had the clutch changed, next two services were routine, and I had the timing belt and front brake pads changed at 1,50,000 km. A few days later there was another minor accident, when the truck ahead of me braked hard, and the one behind us hit us and pushed us upto the truck ahead. A Idiot had run across the truck ahead of us, and had been hit just before the truck halted, the fool had only minor bruises, he got up, and on seeing the pileup he had caused just ran off somewhere. This repair cost me about Rs 80,000. At this time I decided to stop extensive travels and take contracts only near my home, stop motor cycling and use a smaller car. I myself had a injured shoulder which was troubling me. The Innovas last bank instalment was also due in a few days, considering these factors I decided to sell off, and go in for a Polo.

All said and done the Innova(s) gave me long service without any trouble from the cars themselves. If the new platform Innova due in 2016 comes with an AT, I will replace my Polo for an Innova again.
