Re: This summer, I'm blessed with a Nissan Sunny XV Diesel

This is the best FE I managed to get during a 140km drive (85% highway)
100% AC, solo drive, maintained 80~100kmph

Re: This summer, I'm blessed with a Nissan Sunny XV Diesel

Hey, why not put that door beading/protector on the sides? I think it might get a major change in looks? When I see a simple silver Sunny XV, I always felt it looks way different than the same silver Sunny XV that I have because of the black colored door beading/protector that I have + the wind guard thing (forgot the full name) on the windows. Might not make a big difference for the darker colors like you have but for lighter colors, definitely seems different and better IMO.
On another note, gave the car for the 30k service. Its out of warranty and I actually planned to give the car to an independent garage but when I checked the price of some of the components from spare shops (the same place I bought comparatively cheaper spares for the Civic and the City), I found out the spares for the Nissan that they have are actually more expensive than the dealers
This was in the case of air filter, oil filter, front lower arms, tail lamp, brake pads and brake rotors. Was pleasantly surprised, so I went back to the dealer itself.

Never gave a thought on this regard. Let me check how far it helps for my color. Thanks for the suggestion.

Can you please share the price comparison?

Just putting some pics I got as reference as well. And here are some of the approx prices in the format 'Dealer price (outside spare shop price)'

Air filter: Rs.330 (Rs.900)
Front L and R Lower arm: Rs.3,200 (Rs.4,200)
Brake pads: Rs. 2,400 (Rs.2,800 and they aren't sure if it fits)

Conversely, the same shop sold me the Civic air filter for Rs.900 which was Rs.1,800+ from the dealer.
So the best thing I thought, is always to check prices from dealer and outside spare shops before making a decision.

Re: This summer, I'm blessed with a Nissan Sunny XV Diesel

2 years gone, just like that
Covered a little less than 30k km. Blame the too many business trips and few overseas assignments for such a less mileage. Vehicle is due for it's 2 year / 40k km service. Sunny never let me down in this 2 years of ownership (touchwood) and I must say I'm quite satisfied with the machine. It doesn't mean this is a perfect car, there are issues like weak brakes, limited after sales network. But the overall satisfaction is level remains same from the day 1 of ownership.
- Excellent city driveability
- Above average highway performer
- Matured suspension (I'm running on a little stiffer suspension setup)
- Superb FE (the worst I got till date is 16.xxkmpl)
- Space space & space

PS: Saying all these, I still miss my Italian Beauty.

Re: This summer, I'm blessed with a Nissan Sunny XV Diesel

Interior cleaning done last weekend (after 4 months ). Ivory portion in seat covers attracts dirt very easily.

Congrats Mr. Boss on completing two years with the wonderful Nissan Sunny.

Sir, I've a diesel Micra 2012 make, which has completed 84600+ kms as of today and has been serviced in A.S.S till date. I'm planning to do some routine maintenance works such as engine oil and filters changed from an independent garage. Could you please help me with the specs of the filters to be used? The engine oil used by two of the service centres in Kolkata is 15w40/10w30 so I'm planning to use a 5w30/5w40 semi-synth as suggested by other bhp-ians.

Regards.

Thank you so much. My diesel Micra is inching towards 85k and I'm planning to do some routine jobs outside of A.S.S. The engine components of Micra and Sunny would be quite similar I guess since both uses the Renault 1.5 K9K dci albeit with different output.

Re: This summer, I'm blessed with a Nissan Sunny XV Diesel

Covered 38k km milestone yesterday (on the way to Chennai from Coimbatore) For the first time I filled diesel from Reliance fuel station and I could feel the engine smoother. Is it my feeling or actually there is a difference?
