I haven't maintained any log/data. My service at interval of 10,000 kms includes all oils & filter changes. Plus at regular interval [as specified] do get the axle and other oils examined. Cost per service has been between 4,000 to 7,000. I do not have to pay labor charges, but if we add that, I believe an odd sum of Rs. 1,500 would be added.

Gives a fair idea. What has been your overall FE till date?

It is really varied. I believe if you are below 100kmph & flirting with 2,000 revs, you will get 12+ or maybe higher.

I am getting an overall economy between 11 to 12 kmpl on average. If you are driving on very good roads with no traffic and sedately, expect over 13 or even closer to 15 [rare]

re: Sheel's Mahindra Scorpio S10 4WD. 1,10,000 kms completed.

Pretty close to 49,000 kms. Did close to 800 kilometers yesterday. A drive to Siliguri and back and then drove to Barauni and back.

It was pouring, skies had really really opened up yesterday. Islampur was closed yesterday so had to use 4H to climb on the banks of river Teesta (I was about to shoot that image) and escape it. It was pouring so heavily in the evening that despite these AT tires, Scorpio was aquaplaning at ~70 kmph. And visibitly had really dropped, I was leading a convoy of over 10 cars/SUV's yesterday.

The RR power window switch was replaced and I am unsure if it is replaced under warranty or I will have to pay up. I got an SMS alert of some 400 odd rupees, will confirm from ASC when I go for service, which will happen soon.

Revs to a clean 4,500 and still the limiter doesn't kick in. How is it with the other 2.2 Mhawks?

re: Sheel's Mahindra Scorpio S10 4WD. 1,10,000 kms completed.

Scorpio had its 50K service way past its scheduled. Rear brake shoes were changed as precautionary and front ones to be changed the next time round.

No issues, no rattles, no squeaks, the guy who looks after gate alignment and seats did a good work. Now for a detailing session in a few days, will post pics.

Continues to run like a clock work, no issues or niggles. Not many squeaks or rattles, whatever were present were either because there was no felt line in glove box or have been rectified.

I have not been much easy on this and have taken it to places where there are no roads or mobile signals and have pushed it to 4,000 revs [pulls cleanly despite being a diesel]. Love the torque and still picks up from a little over 40 in 5th.

I just hop it continues to run like this. Whenever I get a replacement, it will either be a Scorpio [reliability] or a Jap.

Looks menacing in the mirror.

That's what a Scorpio does to most owners. I m yet to see a Safari owner say this/do this, while there are legions of Scorpio owners who swear by it and buy it multiple times.

Your truck looks pretty well maintained and the tires look fab, are the OE size or one size upsize?

BTW, why do you still have the Co stuck 4WD sticker on the front windshield?

That's probably because most Safari owners keep theirs for 10+ years

@sheel - Sorry for the hijack but this was too tempting to not warrant a response Your Scorpio looks swell and well-maintained. Wish you many many more happy miles on the same!!

Thanks.

Tires are OE size but do appear bigger/taller. LOL, I completely forgot about the 4WD sticker.

Thanks.

Storme is a better SUV, yes, but I am still a bit unsure because of gremlins and niggles. And the fact that the Tata ASC at my place is hopeless. The heart and mind thing.

Some of us don't buy cars with resale in mind
