i guess the major problems were taken care of after the face lift and final years of the 203 will be quite reliable apart from small niggling issues. also post facelift the car looks like a real merc.

Any particular reason why each service should cost a min of 35K? Is it just bcoz the service is provided by Merc?
Hi Shantanu, This topic was previously discussed here : Maintaining a Merc in India. No point in getting it done from outside, as that will void the warranty.

Also remembered that there was an SRS Fault that had come up once. Updated the original thread.

Heres another perspective. So my wife drives the C220 back from Bandra late last night (distance of 6 kms). Her comments "Its too hard / heavy and not nice to drive. I prefer driving the Vtec anyday. The Mercedes is good for backseat travel with the chauffeur driving it." She also found the reverse gear selector and handbrake operations more complicated than they need to be.

What can you say to that, eh?

I'll say that's perfect. You don't have to worry about her taking the drivers' seat next time.

Great car GTO , Its easily the best proportioned car in the country with the right amount of sportiness without looking overtly flashy but at the same time eyecatching too.... It looks even better with blackened out chrome parts , black alloys and red brake calipers ...anyway nice review sir.

Well, the OHCs, including VTECs were the lightest cars to drive actually. I remember on a trip to a hill station, my friends in Indigo, Corsa, etc. were quite pooped driving there (through moderate traffic) while I was not really bothered by the drive.

Ooopss... a TYPO there, I meant "your" C180. I read a couple of woes that you faced with your car... After what I've read I'll probably not accept one even free

So had the car go in for a scheduled checkup today. These are the faults that Auto Hangar listed out:

1. Defective suspension balance rod (will be replaced under warranty).

2. Brake pads worn out - I seriously doubt they require a change and told him to hold it. However, will check the remaining life myself.

3. Wiper blades worn out : In a year? Rubber quality issue?

Hey GTO,

I Think You Have Changed Brake Pads On Second Service, Brake Pads Worn Out Again ??

We Also Have Changed Wiper Blades After 1 Year.

BTW How Much They Quoted For Wiper Blades ??

Cheers,
Mugen_Power.
