What version is your maps? I find mine horribly outdated, with even places like lepakshi and Shivasamduram not showing up in the search results

The car-spa thingie is from Mahindra Purple club.

I think the MAP data is the reason of why you don't see specific POIs in your map. Not sure if the Map engine and map data versions are one and same but technically for sure they are two different entities.

Here are few more snapshots of the map screens -

Great to see the current time, ETA time and GPS signal details too! This is a welcome change and was long awaited.

And note that the GPS antenna is actually working without any repair/ replacement! Which actually to me means XUV has its own mind and "nakhara"s that owners need to get used to

It only gave couple of times this message - GPS Signal Weak in last week or so. But it is definitely not worth to depend on it and go for upcoming trip. Hence today, upon confirmation, went to Sireesha Singasandra and got the GPS antenna replaced. It was quick one hour job. No charges, dealt under warranty without having any discussions.

Cheetah now knows how to lead us to every nook and corner that MMI has told it

He he he! See if this post motivates you to make it any quicker.

Over the weekend, we visited Jog falls and Humcha. Jog was the planned trip but Humcha happened to be a last minute decisions. It turned out to be a good one though. The drive through scenic NHs and narrow SHs was mesmerising.

The route I took is here -

We stayed in a homestay very close to the Jog Falls. Homestay details here - http://www.matthuga.in/ I had booked an entire cottage with two rooms and private varandha/ sit-outs with parking at doorstep. The rains did help us by giving the breather during day while it poured at night! On the way back, we decided to take a detour to Halli Berry Coffee barn for lovely coffee and sandwiches! The drive through CKM happened to be cherry on the cake!

This was yet another memorable drive with family! Here are the pictures that would do rest of the talking.

Perfect drive to add to the memories of Monsoon drive Avinash Good to know you had a nice time with the family and really beautiful locations. Even the home stay looks good and I liked the picture where you have parked the beast in front of the cottage.

Even I need to take out some time to plan drives like these and yes of course time to update my thread as well

And also seeing some pictures are wrongly oriented. Something went wrong when i copied the pictures form my phone onto mac and did a bulk size adjustment through preview. It appeared correct on the screen but upon upload, it looks messed up :(

Another awesome trip I had with T-BHP overnighter gang to Hampi last weekend. The detailed trip-log and some stunning pictures here - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/team-b...ml#post4058159

On the trip there were so many talented photographers, I did not have to click any myself!

As usual, the entire trip was super fun. Cheetah did it on a single tank - home to home (but I still topped up on the way back just before reaching home). On the return leg, I was feverish and that resulted into 5 days of downtime from work and everything else. Luckily I had @SunnyBoi with me who drove me and my cheetah back home!

Next week is the beginning of Dasara Holidays and you never know what stories Cheetah will bring us to enjoy

Ciao until next update!

The fuel tracking app got updated on my phone and all the data so far is presented to me in a much better and pleasant way. Some stats to add to record -

When you see the cumulative numbers like this, for a moment you get a shock as how much money you have spent! But the very next moment, memories made on these drives flashes and the feeling is too good!

re: Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km

Almost after a long break we got to stretch our legs - me and my orange cheetah! Dasara holidays being long ones for kids, I had to make arrangement of WFH/ Travel/ Leave to ensure we take this opportunity to head out of Bangalore.

The plan was made to visit Hampi - Bijapur this vacation with full family but something else was our destiny. Due to some unavoidable situation back home, we shelved our plans and simply headed home - Bangalore to Sangli! That means minimum of 1500 Kms on the odometer

As soon as school exams concluded, we hit the tarmac. Sunday morning (Oct 2) we left Bangalore with a dear friend and classmate who was driving his Creta for first time on longish route. For around 600 Kms our route was same so we decided to make a two car convoy. This was helpful for kids to enjoy both cars alternatively, take ample breaks en-route to enjoy the road and scenes around.

Here are some pictures from our drive out of Bangalore -

While we were stationed in our native places and around, a plan to have a mini-get together of our PG batchmates was made. We decided to meet near Satara (Central for Pune/ Mumbai folks and we Bengaluru guys being closer to Satara). So a delayed visit to Kaas Plateau was made. A farm house nearby was great way to have all our families spend some time together too.

Here are some pictures from this trip -

The Orange Cheetah - 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. 30K km in one year!

So we were sedately driving on NH48 (old NH4) and were at tasawade toll booth near Karad. Traffic was high since it was a peak hour. Cheetah was holding onto leftmost lane to pay toll. And all of a sudden a lorry comes from extreme left with whatever space is left and tried to get in my lane. Another lorry in front of me is about to cross the speed breaker just before the booth. And to avoid this intruder lorry to get in my lane and bully, I get car closer to the lorry in front of me. And then this happens -

Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km-imageuploadedbyteambhp1476500018.828599.jpg
Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km-imageuploadedbyteambhp1476500092.276938.jpg

The lorry in front of me being on speed breaker, rolls back by 6-8 inches. My biggest mistake - I was closer to lorry in front of me. And that reverse movement of lorry ahead of me ends up pushing my bumper exactly where the aux lights are! And the result is here :( I should have kept away from the lorry ahead of me or allowed that another lorry on left to get in lane and watched. At the max delay of another 5 mins but it could have saved me the aux lights and damage to bumper!

Although aux lights are working fine, I would need to realign the clips and check bumper damage. Another long visit to nearby accessory guy.

Haste is never good while on the road!

And right now the cheetah is getting most deserved bath of the month -

re: Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km

On Monday 31st October, we had breather to take our guests (a close friend who visited us from Pune after 10 years!) to a quick day trip. Having long Deepvali weekends and a history buff he and his family is, I decided to do Halebidu/ CKM Halli Berry Coffee Barn trip. But this time in reverse order to beat the morning sun and bet at Halebidu before 10am.

Here are some pictures from the trip -

Its always pleasure to be on this stretch of route and grab a sandwich and coffee at Halli Berry Coffee Barn. Looking forward to same day when I can book a cottage there and spend a weekend within their estates just lazing around in natural setup.

Ciao until next update!

re: Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km

A rare niggle on my Cheetah to report actually -

Yesterday I was reversing the car in my apartment parking lot. I park my bike at the end of paring as it is less used and the reverse parking sensors pick it up. The beeps become louder and continuous as I reverse the car closer to an obstacle like that. While reversing yesterday the beeps were heard and while around 30 cm away from obstacle, it continually beeped. All well so far. I slotted the gear in neutral, pulled handbrake but the beep sound did not stop I again did a quick to-and-fro movement of car but no chance. All this while the infotainment unit is still responding to clicks, switching to camera and phone/ radio. I switched off the engine completely but the beep continued as if its stuck! I restarted the car and did the to-and-fro movement again but no avail. Finally I decided to disconnect the battery and connect again. So i switched off the car and got down. Then it came to my mind to do the same movement after 2 minutes of delayed restart cycle.

And voila, it worked this time. Cheetah self healed! Afterwards I also checked the surroundings of the car if any of the sensors are blocked or any issues there. Everything seemed to be fine but just this one off weird thing I ever noticed in past 1.5 years!

Has anyone seen anything similar happening to your cars? What can be the problem if any?

Quick Update -

So over the last weekend I was able to remove these broken/ bent aux lamps, wiring harness and repair the clamps properly. It took almost 4 hours to remove grill, front bumper, cross member of chassis and then using gas heater, straighten the bent portion of the clamp. Set everything back again. But unfortunately the one LED bulb is badly broken. I did not feel like replacing just one bulb - it is pricy.

While looking for the alternatives, I settled on - "Hella Car Comet Premium Light 550 FF White 329.329-001". The pair costs around Rs. 5500 on Amazon. So i bought it hoping the nearby car accessory shop would have wiring kit/ relay to set this up myself. Unfortunately, the accessory shop did not have any wiring kit for these bulbs and I did not want to use any sub standard kit. So for now, the clamps are ready to fit but continue to be on the car without lights. Looks kind of ugly, but have no choice until the wiring kit is procured and setup.

Two longish back to back trips coming this month and that is worrying for now without ample light to drive through All I need is 2 hours of time to myself and the wiring kit.

Let's see if I manage to get both!

re: Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km

Some things happen when you expect them least! It just happened that a meeting got cancelled at work and I decided to skip the lunch. Simply headed out to nearby accessories shop and inquired if they have "Roots" branded relays for aux lights. And I found what I needed. The electrician there helped create a custom harness with nice black spiral pipe around wires, connect both lights with the remote operated unit and insert an extra fuse in between.

So now the Cheetah has new aux lights.. err, extra pair of new eyes! Here are pictures of Remote Control CPU setup on fuse box cover with 3M sticker and the relay fitted just close by.

This is how the exteriors look -

Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km-fullsizerender.jpg

I still need to -
- Align the lights in perfectly symmetrical/ align base parallel to level ground and
- Direct beams towards the road where I need it.

I will need to test this setup tonight on the darker road fine tune if needed. The best part is - relay is heavy duty. The bulbs are 55W H3. I should be able to upgrade to higher W bulbs if needed in future or without making any changes, replace the Hella Comet with something even larger.

I hope that I will not need to worry about light anymore and this will be enough for my need.
