Thanks guys, i stand corrected. I vaguely remember asking this question on FB messenger to BTP page but unfortunately no archive. I may have missed the BSIII-IV part in question though - high probability. But now since I cross-checked like you suggested, it indeed says BSIV - one year validity! If not for the money, it saves one extra trip or 15-20 mins of time i used to spend every six months!

It was done at the 3M JP Nagar. It is holding good. I should have continued the wrap on the rear hatch door's spoiler to. It would look much better. I had also applied the matt black wraps on the C pillars after the silver strips were removed. Including all of that, i was charged 13K INR for this and good 4 hours at 3M!

IIRC, I spent around 17K or so for this. I also updated few pages before that I have removed these now from the car. Purely for the reason that they are not as hard and helpful like stock ones in case of whiplash to neck due to accidents. They are just lying with me in storage without any use as of now!

I suggest you to consider the ones that are mount on stock headrests. Meaning the ones that just clip on from the behind the seat to existing headrests. Plug-n-play kind if at all.

re: Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km

A minor update - visited Sireesh Auto, Singsandra for some pending things. There were few rattles in the rear hatch door which the Sai Colorium folks could not fix. To my surprise, the Sireesh Mechanic detected the issue and fixed in less than 15 mins! While I was there, they also fixed some of the door rattles by simply re-torquing the hinge bolts or so. I never felt so happy with issues being detected and fixed in such a short time.

While I was there, I also asked them to check the software update on IS and ECUs etc. Learnt that there is new version of IS firmware - 8.0.0. Got that done too. No visible differences but feels much responsive than the older one. technician states that this has fixes for Android bluetooth connection issues with latest OS, Reverse camera beeping mechanism getting hung up sometimes and few more stability fixes. Anyway the update is applied today and I will know the outcome of usage in next 2-3 days!

There was another issue I was facing with car - the roof mood light turns out to be very bright and glaring during night drives. I basically like the blue mood light all over cabin but nothing in my sight. The IS screen goes off automatically as soon as headlights come on but the mood light on roof stays bright and lit all the time if I use the mood lights. I basically wanted just the roof mood light only to be shut off. An idea was to apply a black film on that light and reduce the light intensity. That did not work well. So finally asked them to remove the wire to this cable itself. The technician removed the assembly of sunglass-holder/Sunroof button and front cabin LED lights. That entire thing is into single assembly - pulled it out, cut the wires to U shaped blue mood light and put everything back as is. Now I have full cabin mood light minus the roof U shape line! Night drives would be much more comfortable now.

By the way, the tyres are now making a lot of road noise and not much grip left. May be anther 5K Kms and I will need new tyres! Time to go through another popular thread on forum and make a decision

A complete rattle free and comfortable cabin is so good to sit in!

On the road noise , I would first suggest damping/insulation/underbody coating .Tyres would need attention only after that.

Family Trip to Hampi
A long weekend is mess especially on the outskirts roads of Bangalore. But that does not stop us from taking up an impromptu, hurried trip to Hampi! It was long pending and when every decent stay option is exhausted, we gave a shot at JLR property in Hampi. Luck was in our favour We got a Saturday night booked there. Early morning 5am departure to Hampi from Bangalore home was sure thing. What we did not expect was Monday early morning return! We spent entire Saturday in the JLR Property, Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary and evening shopping @ Hampi bazar near Virupaksha Temple. Sunday full day was spent visiting heritage sites (select few like Vijay Vitthal Temple, Virupaksha Temple and nearby Temples, Palace enclosure). We were almost exhausted by end of the day. But kids were determined to see the Tungbhadra dam and sunset if we can. We managed to visit the dam and chose the return route via Chitradurga. The rational was to catch up the sunset over TB water reservoir backdrop. Glad, we managed everything perfectly.

Took longish break for dinner and then drove back home. It helped save time on road as well as avoid that impatient long-weekend-holiday-returning Bangalore traffic!

Few pictures to sum-up the trip:

And the hero of the trip - our very own Chariot!

As usual, it was yet another memorable drive and time well spent. No complaints about Cheetah as well as anything in the trip.

My amazon order has arrived for upgraded Speakers, Procured damp-mat from a trusted source. Now the wait begins for amp and two days of free time to give Cheetah break and perform this ICE enhancements!

Ciao until next update!

Running Repair

The wear and tear thing - link stabilising bars needed to be replaced. Over the last two weeks, I have been constantly hearing some noise from the front suspension/ wheel movements. I knew something is wrong but wasn't sure what it is. Finally on Friday I gathered courage and took 2 hours off my work to do the checkup. At Sireesh, Singsandra facility, got the vehicle inspected and found that the issue is with link stabilising bars. Replaced them right-away. Now the ride is calm and comforting again.

Logged into the WYH site and retrieved the bill -

Also noticed the UI change that site has undergone -

By the way, while at Sireesh, met Rajith Nair - our Bhpian and fellow XUV owner - he has red XUV. Forgot to take the pictures of his car but we met, exchanged numbers and had good chat. Thanks Rajith for spending time with me on Friday.

Things are crazy at work and unable to find a day off to get the pending ICE setup complete. I have temporarily stuck the thinkware dashcamera as well and a proper setup is pending too. Hope to finish this sooner. The initial impressions of the camera are too good. I am not yet using the rear camera form the set but the quality of video, recording and operations is exceptionally better that my earlier camera.

Ciao until next update!

Hello Abirnale
Isn't the stabilser bar ends covered under standard 1 lakh kms warranty? If not do you what suspension components are covered under warranty?

I am not sure. Frankly speaking, it did not come to my mind. Since the bill was something minor and I pretty much knew that I had never babied the car ever, i just went ahead without a single word on warranty discussion. May be with all experience so far, i have just turned blind eye at these things and started trusting whatever SA says.

The warranty should cover the suspension but I think small wear and tear parts likes rubber bushes, link bars may not be covered. Regardless I will check this next time I meet my SA and revert.

re: Ownership tales of Orange Cheetah, my 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO W10 FWD. EDIT: Sold after 150,000 km

The Bengaluru Chapter of XUV owner group (TORC –Tribe Of Royal Cheetahs) had planned a quick trip to farm that belongs to one of the member. There were 15 XUVs on the road – a sight to behold! We snaked through the superb tarmac, broken as well as non-existent roads! It was all fun meeting fellow XUV owners, families of theirs and enjoying the farm trip! The attendees had mix of TBhp members as well. The discipline that convoy demonstrated on the road was amazing.

Here are some pictures form this trip –

sir, where do you plan on getting this done and what are the charges for the installation? I have one pending for my car as well and haven't been able to get around a decent installer to do this.

I am assuming that you are referring to the Dashcam alone (recollecting your queries on other threads). If so, the installation only labor is not worth more than 300 bucks.
