Congratulations on your new steed and kudos for the awesome review coupled with fantastic pictures

Must have been really difficult to compile such an unbiased review especially after falling in love with The Creta.

Unlimited mileage warranty is a big step from Hyundai

Few questions which need your experience( Ecosport vs Creta)
-Body roll and over all handling on the highway/ghat
-Which one feels more confidant to drive/planted on the highway.
-How connected does the steering wheel feel?
-Air conditioner?

Thanks a lot.
1. I would say Creta is slightly better in the ghats (maybe due to the fact that downshifting was minimal ) but the seats bolstering in the ecosport is better.
2. The route I took was twisty so triple digit speed wasnt possible. But in this route, I felt creta to be more planted.
3. Ecosport steering is better but creta isnt that bad as this light steering was helpful in the ghat section.
4. Ecosport. I keep the temperature at 22 degrees and can feel the difference.

Hi Naveen,

Leatherette seats are notorious for causing sweaty backs on hot days inspite of the airconditioning. Considering you are anyway in humid climate, how have you found the seats to be in terms of causing your shirt back to be wet on hot days ?

I had this doubt but since these are perforated leathers, it's comfortable. Havent had a sweaty back till now.

Re: It came, I saw, We conquered - Our Hyundai Creta 1.6 Diesel SX(O)

Update - First service

Service interval - 1200 to 1500 kms or 2 months.
Odo reading before service - 1473 kms
Current odo reading - 1488 kms

Complaints reported:
1) Left wiper shudders at times
2) Had a small scratch near the headlight. Asked to retouch.

Work Done:
1) Checked the wiper and changed the blade.
2) A temp paint work. A closeup view can make out the difference. But better than the black scratch.
3) Fluid top up. He even showed me around the various fluid locations (first experience for me. Nobody else showed me this before)
4) Cleaned the engine bay and not washed.

Overall a good experience with the dealer. Cant comment on any difference on the car. Might have to wait for the oil change to comment on that.

Next Service - 9000 to 10000 kms or 1 year

Some parting shots

Hi Naveen! That's good to hear that you had a pleasant experience with the dealer on your maiden service.

Can you please tell me what's the tyre pressure you maintain on your 17" stock wheels of the Creta.

I maintain 33 psi with nitrogen in all wheels. My car is not fully occupied, just 2.

Update: Weekend Drive

It came, I saw, We conquered - Our Hyundai Creta 1.6 Diesel SX(O)-dsc_0174.jpg
Just completed a 365 km round trip over the weekend. Majority of the drive was through 2 lane highway. The car performed really well and I should say the 6th gear which I have been wanting is a boon.Close to triple digit speed and the rpm is at 2k. Makes the ride really comfortable and less noisy. Filled up to the brim and it used around 25% of the tank.

Pros:
1) Really loved how it performed on the highway. This was my proper highway outing (a more perfect highway drive would be Bangalore drive which I will report after Christmas) and the car was super stable at high speeds. Definitely, the best from hyundai.
2) 6th gear. Think I dont need to comment anymore.
3) Tires are much better than the crappy MRF's that came in the ecosport. Good grip, less road noise and even looks better.
4) Perfect size for the cramped Kerala highways. Was able to maneuver easily.
5) Although not a decision making feature, I feel the ability to switch off the AVN was a nice touch. Wife used to complain about the ecosport's MID light disturbing her sleep. Here in the creta, the display can be switched off. A nifty feature for me atleast.

Cons:
1) Black seats not comfortable on a hot day.
2) Seats bolstering should have been better.
3) Missing the Ford AC unit. This did a good job too.
4) Wife was pretty comfortable during the entire trip. But it has to pass the "Wife Sleep Test". Usually she sleeps 95% of the time during our Bangalore run. So waiting for my next Bangalore drive to test this. But so far so good.

Odometer now stands at 2146 kms.

Re: It came, I saw, We conquered - Our Hyundai Creta 1.6 Diesel SX(O)

Hey, I have a question for you. Have you ever felt the Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control intervene till now?

The latter two, I believe you don't want to intervene. Traction Control, as far as I understand it helps you to get better traction. So under hard launches in first gear or hard accelerations is it intervening. Say in gravel or places where there is little traction.

Hi Navin, Does the SXO have the beep sound when you lock/unlock the car using remote?

Well, I havent noticed it intervene. Have had couple of hard launches on tarmac and gravel and there was a noticeable wheel spin. I think this works well during hard cornering or during the wet. Well, till now I havent felt any electronic gizmos playing it's part. But during high speed cornering, it feels planted.

Yes, it does have this beep sound when locked/unlocked.

Yes, the sound is feeble but I think this is pretty good because when you step out of the car when the engine is on, it does have this visible loud beep for around 5 secs indicating that the key is out of the vehicle. That's pretty irritating. So i guess the sound is pretty loud. If you want anything loud, you could try the i20 method where in the horn beeps when locked/unlocked. That sounds sweet as the Creta horn is good but can be irritating after sometime.

Thanks for the clarification, does this require visit to dealer for rewiring or can it be done by any neighbourhood shop?

Can you please confirm how much it cost you for the thule mount and bike rack? I am looking to procure the same along with a thule roof box in delhi for an upcoming road trip.
