The reflectors are lower down cause the M-sport has diffuser in the bumper. The regular one does not.

That said the debadged look and the 5 spoke rims look wicked.

That front grill has to be de chromed and in black as well imo.

GTO/Rush, those wheels make your car look beautiful.

Yeah, black is beautiful. But oh such a pain to maintain for people with a mild case of OCD like me. My OHC Type II was black, I spent more time fussing over the paint than driving the car.

And there was that beautiful black BMW 5 (a 30D I think) at the TBHP meet. Whose car was it? Didn't get to chat with the BHPian, I know he was wearing a black T with BMW monogram stitched on. The car in question https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/team-...ml#post4552864 (Mumbai + Pune BHPians meet - Lunch on 2nd March, 2019 (Sunny's Dhaba). EDIT: Pics from page 11!)

Most definitely a remap (from a reputable brand) as it'll make quite a difference to your engine. Steering with paddle shifters = yes! I can't even imagine driving this ZF-gearbox without paddles. Lastly, if you really want to improve her on-road behaviour, something like this (Installed: M-Sport Suspension in my BMW 330i GT).

If your car doesn't already have Michelin Pilot Sports, I would strongly recommend them.

I have, actually. It was initially in full chrome (see pics on opening page), which I later changed to a black grille with a chrome outline. Don't want the full black grille.

Mine is carbon-black (more of a really dark blue). At one time, 3 of the 4 cars in my house were black and I never found them a pain to maintain. Just followed all the simple steps here (Simplified: The Idiot's Guide to keeping your car clean & shiny).

I know you did this but now the front doesn't look as wicked as the back and side.

The chrome seems to stand out and appears less sporty. Maybe change to satin finish rather than the shiny chrome.

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

After the wobbly & defective XUV300 last week, my brain was craving a satisfying highway drive. Took her out on the Nashik highway yesterday. Mum wanted to visit a temple there. Was fun on the way back as it was empty and that road has sticky tar + nice curves. Took it a bit easy though due to the new brake pads (bed them in, Maverick reminded me too).

Sweet looking ride, but the prices you Bangaloreans pay

Definitely raises a flag, yet I wouldn't rule out a car just because its had 2 owners in 6 years. Simply follow our used car checklist with all its audits and you should be fine.

Just got my F10s rear brakes, engine mounting and wipers changed. The car drives like brand new.

Don’t mean to hijack your thread with my sale post. But i thought it would be good to clarify that the car is 3.5 years old and not 6 years old.

Good to hear. I've heard of many F10s getting their engine mounts changed. I had Maverick5490 check mine and he said they're just fine @ 40,000 km.

These cars really age well. Mine sure doesn't feel like it's going to be 6 years old later in 2019.

Understood. Just that in Bombay, a 3.5 year old 530d would be a 32 lakh car at best. Delhi would be even lower. I hope your ride goes to a BHPian (have already pinged a Bangalore Mod to check your car out).

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

My friend's 530D's (2011 Model) engine got seized due to an oil leak. The car is in the garage at Coimbatore. The technician advises to source a used engine from the second-hand market. We are trying in Chennai and the dealer says it will be imported from Malaysia and its price will be around 3.8 Lakhs. We are a bit concerned about reliability.

Can BMW gurus guide please, and share some reliable contacts to source it.

Sorry to hear about your friend's predicament.

A known devil is better than an unknown angel. I would strongly recommend rebuilding the existing engine in his car. There's no rocket science to an engine overhaul and any European car specialist will be able to make it as good as new.

Don't go for imported junk.

Any idea how this could have happened undetected? I mean just so other owners can be cautious. Wouldn't a low oil warning show immediately in the case of an oil leak? Or was the sensor defective perhaps?

The car driven by his son sped over an unmarked speed breaker at a decent speed. A gravel-stone had hit the sump and the oil started leaking. The boy did not notice the dash at all. Everything (pistons, shaft, connecting rods, bearings etc) got jammed and the car came to a complete halt. This is a pure tale of irresponsible driving.

NB: It seems both oil level & pressure sensor lights were on.

I am not sure about Import theory as there should be enough engines in the local market. But as GTO suggested, rebuilt can be a better option as you will never know about the condition of engine from the old car and then hassles of getting it updated on the RC. Resale price will also get affected. So unless you can find some accidental car with low mileage and engine intact, you should look at rebuilding the engine. You can take help of the dealership to get an estimate which I am sure will be very high but no harm in checking. If your friend is the original owner, ask him to interact with BMW India, by my experience, they will try to help. If that does not work out then can try to find a local garage who has some experience, you should be able to source most parts online from Europe.
