Congratulations! Your car looks absolutely smashing. That exterior + interior colour combination makes me drool. White just brings out the subtle design highlights of this car.

I must admit your thread really helped me in the buying process.
Happy to help! Hope to see an ownership thread on your car .

The car is super clean and doesn't feel that its 3 years old.
Yes, these cars age very well. Their quality of construction is incredibly high.

This will be my daily drive and its replacing my 2012 fortuner which clocked 111000 kms without any drama.
Compared to your Fortuner, you can expect performance, refinement, quality & dynamics of a totally different level.

Equally, don't expect the low ownership cost or bullet-proof reliability of your Toyota either .

Wish you thousands of smile-inducing kms, Kedar!

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

Congrats to everyone who owns this torque monster. Its one of its kind in India isn't it?

I'm curious to know if there's any diesel sedan which is faster than 530d in India today?

Also how do you find the OEM Harman Kardon Sound Quality in the car? To me it has good bass but slightly average mid and high range response. Anybody tried playing with equalizer settings?

My research on internet tells me that people usually prefer to keep Surround Logic on off setting.

Going by your signature & avatar, looks like you got yourself one too! Congrats. More details?

Can't think of any off the back of my head. It's either the fastest, or one of the fastest.

I stream via Bluetooth; tweaking the equalizer at the source has made a night & day difference. I use RocketPlayer with its 10 band equalizer.

Yours is the newer model. Mine doesn't have this option at all.

The Audi A8l with a V8 4.2l TDI producing 385 bhp and 850nm of torque doing 0-100 in 4.6 secs. . Though I don't know whether it can give the driving pleasure of a 530d.

Nope, having them both and having had the 4.2 TDI in my Q7 as well, I'd say the 530d gives you the best driving pleasure.

Having driven both of 'em, I'd say the straight line acceleration from the 4.2 is pure bliss but in terms of overall driving pleasure especially while taking down those twisties, I'd say the 5er is better.

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

@GTO: Kiirus has remapped first 530D in India. Numbers look very tempting I am copying the text and attaching pic from their fb page.

F10 530d BMW rolls out with kiirus map. 258 hp car, 540 nm Truly measures :

252hp, 552nm. After kiirus software :
316hp, 652nm.

Extra 64hp, 100nm.

Maps are safe and won't be detected on BMW scan systems.

Wow, they took it to a whole new level! The power figure's almost 4.2 V8 territory. Guess that Q7 4.2 won't be missed on the straights.

Please do post outright and in-gear acceleration times from a V-Box if possible. It would be really interesting to compare those figures with an A8/Q7 4.2 TDI.

I just happened to see this in Kiirus fb page It would be good to compare acceleration figures. 530D is a beast even in stock and I can't imagine what would 652 nm torque do to it

Yes, the BMW guys tell me that the 530d has a lot of tuning potential. I'd prefer not to do anything until my 6 year warranty is over as she's damn quick in stock form. If & when I do, it would be from a better brand; Kiirus isn't a shop I'd trust with such a complex car. Would have to be one of the bigger, more established brands with a long history of tuning BMWs.

I got my Fiesta 1.4 TDCi remapped from them and they did a stellar job at it.

Just to give a clearer picture, Kiirus has tie ups with international tuning houses and it is with their help they do tuning. Also they see to that remap fits into Indian running conditions.

They are pretty capable, know their work and can tune pretty much any car as per customer needs. Give them a try post your warranty and you did be surprised.

@quickdraw . Did you contact BMW India ?

I had a similar experience with Infinity with my 5 series, although mine was new purchase. It was related to replacement of fender. But I left my car there refusing to pick up until they changed.

Maybe you made a hasty decision. I know it's annoying to send the car repeatedly.
Anyway, hope it works out for you.

I am not at all impressed with their service and nor with the way BMW India is dealing with the issue. I had taken the car to their Turbhe workshop six times and had not been able to use it properly for 5 months. They kept the car for 15+ days virtually were doing nothing. I asked them for the daily work logs of my car to see what all they did but they have not even provided that. Owning these cars digs a hole in your pocket each month with the big EMIs. Imagine you have to keep paying the EMIs and the careless dealer just parks your car somewhere in the corner of their workshop and does nothing .. I took the car because each time the car went there, new issues cropped up. I did not want to keep the car with them again for a long time and return back with another 2-3 issues. That is how bad their service was.

Just wanted to check on how you are maintaining the leather seats on the car, are you using any particular leather cleaner or nourisher to keep it supple

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

Here are a few pics of some of the upgrades to my car.

1.Rear door sunshades (doesn't come standard in my country)

2.Individual Rear Reading Lights(you can now adjust where the light points to)

3.Rear 4 Zone AC Control (Bought the entire armrest portion from another F10 in Europe and got the parts fitted to my car + Coding). Now the rear AC is completely independent of the front. It has a separate blower which is fit below the front armrest area. No more rear passengers complaining of it being too hot and me having to set the front ac to full blast! Works Great!

4.Upgraded front centre vent, with dials for both passenger and driver temp control(The Blue and red marked dials). It also allows to control the type of airflow. (Diffused air,Focused air to one point or a hybrid of both.) You can see the diagrams on the outer dials.

5.LCI Idrive screen cover with the chrome strips.
