Turning radius is 5.2m. For reference Polo is 4.97 and Vento is 5.4m ( since am very familiar with these cars)

Beautiful color, beautiful alloys and tyres, beautiful car (I dont like the front end though), beautiful review with beautiful phots. Congrats!
You seem to have access to a parking area where you can take a lot of compare photos!!

Congrats sandygordon on your acquisition and being the first Bhpian to post a S-cross ownership.

Personally, I am not a big fan of the brown shade but you have chosen the perfect set of wheels for your stead and I think I like what I see

Just curious, do you park your car next to all the contemporaries/competition or does it happen the other way round, considering the S-cross is fresh?? LOL
You always seem to get the perfect comparo shot & perspective buddy.

Wish you a happy motoring and many mile munching.

Congrats SandyGordan for your Acquisition. Looking forward to purchasing my own SCross A200 from the same shop as yours.

Will keep all updated on the process.

Congratulations for the new set of wheels. This is the first S cross review if I am not wrong.
The change of wheels and alloys has completely changed the entire look of the vehicle. God only knows why most of OEM alloy wheels are so boring.
Brown is the new colour in car market and is liked by many. Duster and I20 Active too look good in brown. And the S cross looks the best in this brown.

Thanks

I do try to park them close to cars for size comparison
Kerala with its booming NRI economics gives ample opportunity to do so. Roads are filled with Germans, Brits and even Italians.

The photo saga does not end. Here comes hippo with the ecosport and ertiga.

I have seen your flowcharts but just wanted to ask whether you ever made a comparison between the Ciaz and the S-Cross? Engine is the same but then you do get the boot...

I have always felt the ciaz to be a bit more tinny compared to the s cross. Moreover you sit a bit lower in a relatively large car which is difficult to handle in traffic. For me 300 odd litres of boot is enough. You get a dynamically sound and better built package in the s cross.

Nice writeup SandyGordon. Are the headlamps Bixenons..? Or do they have a halogen high beam?

The headlamps are bi-xenons.

Nice detailed ownership report SandyGordon. Your brown hippo looks subtle yet menacing with those tasty alloys and tires.
One question, could you post the cost breakup of the OTR, since the NEXA dealer close to my space categorically stated that it is mandatory to buy insurance from them only.
I told them that it is not at all correct. Still wanted to check if their quote was alright or not.

Re: My Brown Little Hippo: Maruti S-Cross DDiS 200 Alpha

@sandygordon - congratulations on your purchase. Great job on switching the alloys and tyres , completely changes the plain jane character of the car. The OEM alloys do a fabulous job of making a decent looking vehicle look so boring.

I was very keen on the S cross and more specifically on the 1.6 but MS priced it out of my budget and it didn't make sense to pick up the 1.3 as I already have a fiat punto that I currently use. Although I did try to convince myself for the 1.3 because I just loved the ride and handling as well as the space on this car.

Also the brown looks fab post the minor tweeks of the tyre and alloys, I didn't like this colour as much when i saw it myself but these changes have really done the trick.

Happy mile munching

Re: My Brown Little Hippo: Maruti S-Cross DDiS 200 Alpha

Hey buddy,

When the ICE is switched OFF/idle what will be the thing that opens when the MODE button is pressed on the steering wheel?

In my Swift, when the ICE is OFF and press the MODE button, the USB stick activates with music playing. If I press the MODE again it changes to FM >>> AM >>> CD >>>AUX >>> USB.

How does this work in the S-Cross?

In the 1.8 years with the Swift, I would have hardly pressed any of the buttons except for 'Repeat' and 'Display'!

What's your feedback on usage friendly-ness?
